Main Roles and Responsibilities

The role involves managing and overseeing the delivery of assigned modules for the 3D Design Diploma and Degree Programmes. You will deliver approximately 14 - 18 contact hours of teaching per week, demonstrating a high level of pedagogical competence.

A key part of the role includes contributing to curriculum development, conducting program reviews, and designing learning materials to ensure academic excellence. You will supervise and assess student projects, while also organizing and coordinating artist talks, residencies, trips, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and other related events to enhance the learning experience.

Job Description:

Koei Tecmo Singapore is looking to field an experienced 2D Artist to create concept art and designs for Characters, Environments and Props across different styles; ranging from realistic to stylized and anime-styles.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with Team Lead, Art Director, Designers and team members to produce 2D designs and concepts within the allocated technical budget and predefined art direction/style.
• Manage the quality of external studios and off-shore teams.
• Guide and mentor junior members to improve their work quality and proficiency.
• Manage cost and deadlines, delegate work and check deliverables independently to ensure entrusted project is delivered on time.

Requirements:

• 3~5 years’ experience of relevant 2D design working experience. Preferably in a game development environment.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in leadership position or possess strong management skills.
• Able to work in a team, with good leadership skills and the ability to delegate accordingly.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with members across both art and technical teams.
• Sound understanding of art fundamentals such as anatomy, composition, and color theory, as well as the ability to adapt to different styles as required.
• In-depth knowledge of 2D asset production process.
• Awareness of 3D model limitations when creating designs.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or other drawing software.
• Good understanding of recent art trends in the game industry.

Bonus Requirements:

• Experience in 2D character illustration.
• Experience in Game Development with multiple launched titles under your portfolio.
• Proficient in basic 3D modelling skill.
• Proficiency in the Japanese language.
• Interest in Japanese culture.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Plan, prepare, schedule works and revise drawings in a timely manner for tender and job order.
• Collaborate with team to propose design and materials based on budget and client requirements to obtain material dimension and specification from site & vendors.
• Coordinate instructions & monitor with sales team, production and clients for job order & design specifications, acceptance of work, progress of work, problem solving, handover completed project.
• Prepare bill of quantity for job order in a cost-effective manner, responsible in the overall quantity take off resources (eg. Material, Man hours), analysis and preparation of cost plan and estimate for tender and job order.
• Liaise with consultants and vendors on compliance with regulations, practices and changes.
• Attend to customer enquiry and conduct survey site condition, cost and method requirement of installation, delivery and set-up if necessary.
• Conduct quality control to ensure finished products are constructed according to job order and drawing.
• Plan & implement effective, efficient production and safe practices, be organized and responsible in safe keeping of all files & drawings.
• Prepare project reports to the report Manager/ Customers, and ensure workplace is well-maintained, tidy & safe.
• Any other related task and ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Diploma/ NTC 3 (equivalent) in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, building, project management, or manufacturing.
• Competency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, 2D & 3D drawing.
• Self-driven, organized, and team-player with good interpersonal skills.
