Role Purpose
The role is responsible for delivering the compliance and health & safety scope within JLL’s overall scope of service to our Client for a portfolio of corporate real estate and colocation data centres.
This role’s responsibilities include developing the compliance platform, evaluating all current and new compliance regulations, reviewing company processes, and leading training sessions
The Regional Account HSSE Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing HSSE for one of the JLL’s WD Client accounts. The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our clients, our employees and sub-contractors return home safely at the end of their working day.
The role is highly visible, and the work is fast-paced. The successful candidate must ensure that critical stakeholders, such as employees and clients, receive timely, relevant information and appropriate counsel for HSSE Matters. They must have an acute eye for HSSE risk and be able to foster as strong culture health and safety and deliver world class HSSE results, improved productivity and flawless execution.
As a member of the WD HSSE team they will support the implementation of the JLL HSSE strategy, and the role reports directly to the Regional Operations Director
Other key stakeholders include the account leads for regional Operations leads, account country leads, Engineering, Risk & Compliance, Finance, HR, Projects and Client Corporate Real Estate Team leads.
What this job involves
Performance
- Implement JLL WD HSSE strategic objectives and bring them to life for the account , ensuring effective operational relevance.
- Driving implementation of a property compliance platform, focussed on essential statutory requirements & safety compliance requirements, that provides a real time status across the portfolio
- Direct, prepare, and/or monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Work with 3rd party compliance consultants to develop statutory requirements applicable for the portfolio and perform quality assurance checks of the compliances in place
- Coordinate building inspections to verify compliance status
- Developing tools and resources for the account team to use to ensure compliances are always maintained
- Direct review of tenant certifications/re-certifications and all related paperwork.
- Direct review of periodic and prompt audit response to regulatory agencies and auditors.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all legislation and regulations for the portfolio
- Ensure construction through to operational building compliance requirements have been achieved and secure documentation
- Manage and reduce operational risks across the account by providing guidance and advice on health and safety risk management at all levels.
- Provide technical advice on relevant HSSE issues and communicate notifications of changes in legislation that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy.
- Ensure a continued working knowledge of relevant current legislation
- Identify improvement opportunities and support the account team in identifying practical cost-effective solutions and controls for HSSE risks.
- Ensure building related risk assessments are in place in line with legal requirements and Client Risk Control Standards
- Manage account for incident and accident investigations
- Organize, implement, and maintain an effective account HSSE communication plan
- Develop health & safety plan that focuses on metrics, people and processes for the delivery of the facilities management and engineering services
- Point of contact for health and safety matters and incidents
- Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively.
- Providing strategic direction and guidance on ways to enhance and expand service delivery to the client.
- Ensuring that all activities under our operational control are conducted and operated in accordance with relevant legislation and/or guidelines. Additionally, the Regional compliance & Health & safety manager shall periodically monitor risks that may be outside of operational control to ensure that risks are under adequate control.
Leadership
- Foster a Culture of Safety across the account
- Lead, manage and develop the account regional HSSE teams maintaining an appropriate structure to ensure operational HSSE management.
- Support account HSSE team members in developing relationships with key internal and external HSSE stakeholders.
- Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved
- Deliver an exceptional quality of service to client, as reflected by client feedback.
- Establish effective relationships and work co-operatively with the Account Teams, client's organizations, and 3rd party vendors, consultancies
- Contribute to the WD HSSE programme as part of the global HSSE leadership team
- Ensure 3rd party vendors maintain compliance with JLL WD and client's HSSE Standards at all times.
Standards
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of JLL Global HSSE operational controls, (i.e., process, standards, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with HSSE obligations and JLL’s HSE aspirations
- Identify and align JLL HSSE practices to client's HSSE standards and requirements
- Drive the development of best practice HSE training programs and resources.
- Implement HSE strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL’s contractors and supply chain vendors.
- Oversee the successful delivery of HSSE regulatory responsibilities and best practices globally to secure regulatory compliance, including management of change related to new and revised legislation.
- Oversee the successful management of assurance for the HSSE program, while supporting growth strategies related to Client, JLL and/or national and industry standards.

Experience
A motivated self-starter with a proven track record of successfully delivering best practice and quality to their client. Possess a can-do attitude with proven ability to build and maintain relationships. A strategic thinker who can deal with ambiguity and solve complex problems effectively.
- Managing HSSE for multiple sites across multiple countries with a strong understanding of the HSE regulatory environment in major markets, Skills derived in a consulting, business development, solutions development, technical delivery, or client relationship management role are also highly regarded.
- Experience with banks is good to have, not a must
- Experience with India and BPO set-ups
- Experience with fire life safety systems and engineering
- Ability to lead a matrix organization
- A minimum 10 years HSSE management experience within Operational Management systems and working with corporate clients.
- Appropriate recognized Professional HSSE qualifications and memberships
- Management system development, implementation and auditing experience;
- Experience of managing a, multi-cultural team of HSSE professionals.
- Practical working knowledge of up-to-date tools and techniques within a real estate environment and management of risk across a complex multi-site property portfolio.
- Significant practical experience of problem solving HSSE issues in a dynamic/diverse environment and implementation of risk control systems and processes.
- An agile approach to leadership and stakeholder management – able to operate effectively in a matrix structure.
- A strong orientation to goals and measurable results.
- Excellent communication skills to appropriately coach and educate at all levels of the account.
