An exciting opportunity to join the Accounting team of a leading European ship owner/manager This role reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting.

Key Accountabilities

• Reviews the monthly financials for all vessels and investment holding companies under the Group, to enhance efficiencies around accounting and reporting function within the group.
• Receives, reviews, analyses and monitors periodical management reports, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets from assigned entities and functions for their operations regarding all operational areas under his/her responsibility and coordinates as necessary.
• Reviews financial statements other accounting reports and ensures that they are timely and accurately prepared, in accordance with the accounting standards to ensure compliance with SFRS and group reporting policies.
• Coordinates taxation with local tax authorities to ensure the accurate and timely provision of all the required tax returns and financial statements to local authorities to secure the compliance of the company with the local legislation.
• Participate in the execution of external and internal audits, providing all the required information to the auditors, to facilitate their accurate and fast execution. Monitors and follows up on the results of the external audits, to protect company’s interests.
• Ensures timely execution of payments, to comply with payment obligations and contractual agreements. Monitors and controls accurate execution of payments due and identifies potential discrepancies, while liaises with Manila team for resolution of payment, thus supporting the enhancement of the company’s cash flow. Co-ordinate with banks on day to day matters.
• Reviews the periodic accounts receivables and accounts payables reports of the assigned entities, raises issues and proposes appropriate action plans.
• Ensures that all stakeholders receive routine and ad-hoc financial statements and accounting reports according to the requirements.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• University degree and above in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA) would be an advantage

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience for qualified accountants
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a related field for non-qualified accountants

Job-Specific Skills

• Experience in shipping industry will be preferred
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
• Ability to analyses financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• Advanced analytical and conceptual thinking

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

· Prepare and finalize monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, inclusive of supporting schedules;

· Prepare consolidated journal entries;

· Review inter-company transactions;

· Prepare analysis of the group financial and management reports;

· Review financial data submitted by finance team of subsidiaries to ensure accuracy and obtain understanding of Group performance;

· Liaise with the finance team of subsidiaries for the submission of financial data and analysis of results;

· Assist in annual audit process and preparation of annual reports;

· Analyze financial processes to identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting;

· Undertake ad-hoc assignments as and when required.

Pre-requisites:

· Degree in Accounting or CPA/ACCA qualification with at least 3 years of consolidation or audit experience, preferably in Big 4 audit firms.

· Prior commercial experience in FMCG or similar industry, or with Vietnamese Accounting exposure will be an added advantage.

· Ability to work under pressure, take up challenges and meet tight deadlines.

· Strong attention to details, able to work independently and think critically.

· Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

· Good working knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.

· Well-versed in MS Office, especially MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Responsibilities

1. Manage day to day bookkeeping works such as invoicing, data entries, payments and filing
2. Responsible for accounting tasks, including AP & AR process, GL, account reconciliation, etc
3. Responsible for preparation and closing of monthly and annual financial statements
4. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the Management
5. Support forecasting and budgeting exercise as per company guidelines
6. Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities where required
7. Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirement, audits, procedures and forms for both statutory and internal
8. Support related companies’ financial closing and reporting

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma holder in Accountancy
• Good working knowledge of IFRS

Remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experiences.

• Responsible for the accounting and administration of trusts and funds focused on investments in private equity, venture capital, digital assets and other alternative assets.
• Handling and supporting the trust and fund administration service line including, but not limited to, production of investor reports, financial statements, NAV calculations, monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
• Participate in the implementation of fund structures onto the accounting system.
• Be involved in all aspects of new client onboarding including coordination of opening of new bank accounts, drafting of fund agreement and conducting investor and fund KYC.
• Preparing capital account statements, capital call and distribution notices, waterfall and equalisation calculators and fund performance indicators.
• Initiating payments from client accounts and performing bank reconciliations.
• Liaising with clients, regulators and agencies, external service providers and banks to ensure service delivery standards are met.
• Assist in client service matters, maintaining and building client relationships.
• Collaborating with team members in ensuring regular review, update and execution of internal policies and procedures related to trust and fund administration.
• Working with team members on ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.

Qualification/ Skill Set required:

• At least 2 years of experience in fund accounting
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or any related discipline or professional qualification
• Good understanding of operational functions including fund structures, fund accounting, equalizations, calls/distributions, waterfall models and fund performance indicators
• Effective client-handling and people management skills
• Good communication skills
• Analytical, meticulous and systematic in approach in handling work
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and multi-task
• Self-motivated, diligent, positive working attitude and strong desire to learn

Job Scope

· You will be involved in the monthly closing of Accounts and submissions of reports to HQ

· Oversee and mentor staff in AR Section

· Provide supervision for Medisave/Insurance claims

· Prepare quarterly costing report

· Participate in system enhancements and project implementations to align with new statutory or operational requirements.
