Job Description

1. Ensure the year-end balance is accurately transferred into the new IFS system.
2. Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) process, resolving issues, uploading invoices to the correct entities and account codes, generating posting proposals, running payments, processing daily bank files, and handling tax codes.
3. Handle journal entries, including general journals for transactions not covered by IFS modules (e.g., payroll, external file uploads, and prepayment amortization).
4. Manage the fixed asset module, including new asset acquisitions, importing fixed asset objects, running and correcting depreciation.
5. Perform reconciliations (GRNI, mixed payments postings, AP/AR reconciliations, bank reconciliation, etc.).
6. Generate and create necessary reports for period close (e.g., GST/VAT reports, trial balance, general ledger listings, AP/AR reports, etc.).

The Successful Applicant

• At least 3 years of experience in finance and accounting.
• Prior IFS ERP system experience is a must.
• Familiar with full sets of accounts - AP, AR and GL.
• Prior experience from Oil and Gas MNC is a plus.

Overview:

The Finance Associateis responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial management and reporting activities of the company, including budget planning, financial analysis, and providing strategic financial advice to support the executive management team in making informed business decisions.

Job Description:

1. Manage full set of accounts for 6-8 entities, including documentation and all related entries, such as posting General Journals and keying in related accounting entries into accounting systems.
2. Ensure the Trial Balance is accurate and that all ledgers (GL, AR, AP, PA, Assets, Inventories, and Liabilities) are regularly reviewed, updated, and reconciled.
3. Prepare and submit monthly management reports, coordinate and prepare financial operating budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports, and MAS regulatory returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
4. Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and payment of vendor invoices.
5. Ensure compliance with all tax, licensing, and statutory obligations, including the preparation and filing of quarterly GST returns and other statutory filings such as ACRA and XBRL.
6. Audit preparation and coordination including assisting in the preparation and coordination of external audits.
7. Other ad’hoc finance and administrative tasks.

Requirements:

1. Diploma or degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
2. Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
3. Have prior experience in handling full set of accounts and statutory reporting.
4. Independent to fulfil tasks and a team player to perform tasks in the company workflow.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee comprehensive accounting operations for the Group, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare and analyze monthly consolidated management reports for the Group and its entities, delivering key financial insights and performance analyses.
• Manage the timely processing of invoices and collections to support seamless cash flow operations.
• Review and reconcile vendor accounts, ensuring timely processing of vendor payments.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, ensuring all data is current and precise.
• Oversee daily cash management and banking operations, ensuring effective cash flow management.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and manage the preparation and submission of GST returns and other statutory filings.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial control, ideally within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry.
• Demonstrated experience in group consolidation and financial reporting.
• In-depth understanding of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance mandates.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Business Central, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
