GL Accountant (6-month contract)

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this contract role handles the accounting activities in areas of GL, Fixed Assets and other accounting related areas.

Job Accountabilities:

• Manage and execute GL activities of assigned country to ensure that overall delivery of services is within agreed KPIs and SLAs.
• Responsible for timely and accurate financial and analytical reports to Manager, GL.
• Responsible for managing key stakeholders and internal customers including assigned country FD, FP&A teams, internal control teams, external auditors etc
• Ensure regular review and smooth and timely closing of accounts monthly, including identifying any unusual transactions and movements of account balances.
• Identify and follow up on areas of concern within the reconciliation, develops corrective action plans where needed and ensures accounts are in good standing.
• Ensure that good internal controls and GL practice are met in accordance with group policies.
• Actively participate in in digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives which may involve activities such as defining requirements, change impact assessment and UAT.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Accountancy, CA or CPA will be preferred

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant/ Senior Tax Accountant to manage and oversee corporate tax or/and GST responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Singapore Income Tax Acts, GST regulations, and possess effective communication skills for liaising with various departments and handling inquiries from IRAS.

Responsibilities:

1. Corporate Tax:

- Perform tax calculations, tax filing and submit tax returns

- Perform monthly tax forecasts and quarterly tax reporting.

- Liaise with various departments to ensure accurate tax reporting.

- Address and resolve inquiries from IRAS and user.

- Ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks related to corporate tax.

- Analyse tax expenses include changes in the capital allowance and depreciation

- Manage R&D claims and other tax matters.

2. GST:

- Submit GST returns accurately and on time.

- Advise on GST treatment and implement GST processes for complex transactions.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage the complete set of accounts. This includes tasks such as posting journals, accruals, and prepayments, performing bank reconciliations, and reconciling accounts payable and the general ledger. You will also be responsible for preparing schedules, ensuring proper recording of all transactions, coordinating with auditors to meet statutory requirements, submitting surveys to government agencies, and ensuring compliance with internal control processes.

Your Profile

You should have a minimum qualification of Degree in Accounting and/or finance, with at least 3 years of related experience. To succeed in this role, you should be well versed in accounting knowledge and are familiar with SFRS. Prior experience in SAP would be advantageous. You are self-driven and are able to work with tight deadlines and can work with minimal supervision.
