Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Tax and Accountant professional in Singapore. Remote work may be acceptable in some instances.

Responsibilities for the Tax

• Prepare and review tax returns and filings for the company, including but not limited to corporate income tax (CIT), goods and services tax (GST), withholding tax (WHT), etc.
• Keep up to date on the latest tax developments and evaluate the impact of Singapore's tax policies related to the company's business.
• Research and assist the company to apply for local tax incentives in Singapore.
• Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries, and respond to queries from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and auditors.
• Review the commercial contracts from tax perspective.
• Conduct research on the tax implications of the company’s business activities in different jurisdictions.
• Coordinate among Big4, regional and HQ tax team together to oversee and monitor the significant business and tax projects.

Responsibilities for the Accountant

• Responsible for entering cost and expense data into the Singapore ERP system and verifying supplier original invoices.
• Responsible for reconciling bank statements and recording bank-related charges and interest.
• Preparation of financial statements for the Singapore entity and coordinating with accounting firms for audit-related matters.
• Engaging in daily communication and coordination with banks for opening and closing accounts, bank settlements, and providing relevant documentation as required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 4 years of experience in the tax area. In-house tax experience and international tax experience in the Big 4 accounting firms is preferred
• Strong knowledge of Singapore tax laws and regulations, as well as international tax issues and treaties
• Professional certification such as CA, CPA, CMA, CFA or tax-related certifications
• Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and accounting systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines
• Experience with regulatory compliance is a plus
• Experience in the technology industry is a plus

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for monitoring the tax compliance function of assigned area/regions for Bureau and Group, both US and foreign.
