Job Summary:

The Senior Accounting Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires a detailed understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
   Analyze financial reports and provide insights to improve financial performance and accuracy.
   Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
   
2. Accounts Management:Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
   Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and payroll.
   Reconcile balance sheets and prepare journal entries for adjustments.
   
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
   Monitor actuals vs. budget and investigate variances.
   Support strategic planning processes by providing financial analysis and projections.
   
4. Audit and Compliance:Support internal and external audit processes by preparing relevant documentation and answering audit queries.
   Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory filings.
   Maintain internal controls and recommend improvements for efficient financial operations.
   
5. Process Improvement:Identify and implement accounting process improvements and automation opportunities.
   Collaborate with the IT and operations teams to enhance accounting systems and tools.
   Document processes and standard operating procedures for accounting functions.
   
6. Team Leadership and Training:Guide and mentor junior accounting staff, providing technical support and training.
   Assign tasks, monitor progress, and support career development for team members.
   Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the finance team.

Responsibilities:

· Process staff claims and payments for daily operating expenses;

· Prepare accounting schedules such as Fixed Assets Register and Listing of OPEX.

· Preparation and posting of Journal Entries.

· Perform bank reconciliation;

· Perform quarterly GST filing;

· Prepare internal management reports such as daily monitoring and report calculation, daily regulatory data base calculation;

· Prepare MAS regulatory reports, such as MAS 610, 649, 640 etc

· Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly Head Office Reports;

· Other administrative support duties.

Requirements:

· Possess an accounting degree.

· Min 1 year of relevant accounting experience

. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome to apply.

· Good knowledge of MS Excel is essential.

· A good team player with good attitude.

· Meticulous and attention to details.

Ability to work under pressure and tight timeline.
