Audit Support:

• Act as a key liaison with external auditors for technical accounting queries.
• Assist in responses for any regulatory queries such as those from SEC.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Legal, and Operations, to address accounting implications of business initiatives.
• Provide technical accounting expertise to support decision-making processes.

Training and Development:

• Conduct training sessions for finance and other relevant teams to enhance understanding of technical accounting principles.
• Stay informed about emerging accounting issues and communicate their potential impact to the organization.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS TRADING COMPANY
SINGAPORE & TC FINANCE, OPERATIONS ACCOUNTING

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As the Senior Accountant, Accounting Operations Trading Company for Nike Trading Company B.V. and Nike Global Trading B.V. in Singapore (“Nike Trading Company”), you will be responsible for managing the global Inventory and intercompany accounting activities for the buy/sell operations of the Nike Trading Company.

We are looking for a candidate with strong SAP skills in the MM/FI modules and accounting operations experience, preferably in the areas of Inventory and Intercompany. The individual is also expected to communicate complex concepts as well as work collaboratively, independently and partner cross functionally with multi-cultural stakeholders, both financially and non-financially trained.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be responsible for E2E inventory/global intercompany accounting processes accounting process for buy/sell operations for legal entity reporting in SAP R/3 and S4 including: timely execution of month-end closing activities which includes inventory adjustments, cutoff entries, inventory aging review, purchase price variance analysis, various intercompany chargeback entries, month-end reporting and variance analysis. Where there are exceptions, investigate, communicate and follow up effectively with the relevant parties and close off with proper documentation.

You will also be managing quarterly inventory count and reconciliation activities as well as year end confirmation and support internal and external audits in the relevant scope. Furthermore, you will also ensure compliance with NIKE’s Corporate policies, SOX controls, and statutory/tax filing requirements.

You will also be required to partner with various stakeholders including Global and Geography/Country Controlling, Supply Chain, Tax, Global Treasury to support business requirements, research on exceptions to identify root causes, and drive process improvements. Additionally, you will maintain the integrity of financial statements and compliance with US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements through enabling process improvements and documentation of processes and SOP to meet internal control and reporting requirements. You will also be driving automation, standardization and simplification in processes to continuously improve end to end processes and maintaining strong internal controls governance.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification, preferably with CPA or equivalent professional qualification
• Knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX required
• Min. 4 years of accounting experiences, with at least 3 years of hands-on inventory experiences in SAP FI/CO and MM modules.
• Hands-on experiences with SAP S4/HANA.
• Demonstrated SAP S4/HANA implementation experiences that cut across go-live readiness, implementation, stabilization, and transition to operations.
• Ability to translate business requirements into operationalization with considerations for financial risks and controls across end-to-end processes.
• Related experience gained with MNCs in consumer products or manufacturing is highly preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Outlook with ability to deploy them effectively for analysis reporting, presentation and process-flow improvement
• Good documentation skills with proficiency in Powerpoint and Visio.
• Advanced Excel, Robotic process automation (RPA) and Alteryx knowledge will be added advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively and partner cross functionally with multi-cultural stakeholders
• Strong communication skills with ability to bring across complex concepts succinctly to broad and diverse stakeholders

Job Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Manage and monitor the work performed by GBS, ensure accuracy and completeness in accordance with accounting principles and all relevant regulations, laws and standards, smooth month end/year end closing and no material adjustment raised by auditor. This includes review the transaction, journal, accounts reclassification, accrual etc.
• Monitor the creditor aging report closely and ensure no overpaid & overdue invoice which will jeopardize company reputation.
• Manage escalation point on Open PO, GRIR and resolve the long outstanding.
• Review the hedging request submitted by GBS and ensure we have sufficient coverage and reduce the currency risk exposure.
• Key contact to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancy issue with GBS, external party(vendor), business operation.
• Key person to deal with any audit issue related to Accounts Payable function include external audit, any regulatory bodies or internal audit team.
• Treasury support for cashflow forecast, change of bank authorisers, banker guarantee application etc

Accounts Receivable

• Manage and monitor the work performed by GBS, ensure accuracy and completeness in accordance with accounting principles and all relevant regulations, laws and standards, smooth month end/year end closing and no material adjustment raised by auditor. This includes review the transaction, journal, receipt allocation/application, debtor provision, till control recon etc.
• Monitor the debtor aging report closely, minimise the overdue debtor.
• Review balance sheet schedules relating to accounts receivable functions include bank reconciliation and follow up the aged item with GBS and business operation.
• Key contact to resolve any invoice or collection discrepancy issue with GBS, external party(customer), business operation.
• Key person to deal with any audit issue related to Accounts Receivable function include external audit, any regulatory bodies or internal audit team.

Others

• Provide technical expertise and advice on accounting related matters to GBS, business operation.
• Lead and drive SAP ERP system implementation / new business development and recommend improvements to workflow and processes.
• Other ad-hoc duties as required and/or assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA is a plus.
• Strong technical accounting background and with supervsiory experience.
• At least five years relevant experience is required. Past experience in a shared service environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Power point and Word especially good command of advance Microsoft Excel formulas and functions.
• A hands-on leader with demonstrated skill in leading, building and nurturing finance teams to support business strategies and goals.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization.
• Good time management to meet deadline and able to multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
