• Ensure the prompt and accurate processing of Treaty Statements of Accounts received from Brokers/Cedants
• Manage Treaty Technical accounts, both Inwards and Outwards:
• For Prop Treaty: Verify and record SOA, Estimates Premium, Profit Commission, Sliding Scale Commission, and Cash Calls. Maintain records of Outstanding Loss Reserves. Follow up on Cash Calls refunds.
• For Non-Prop Treaty: Verify and record MDP, Estimates Premium, Premium Adjustment, and Reinstatement Premium.
• Supervise Premium and Claims collection/payment processes.
• Monitor aging balances for brokers/cedants and ensure timely resolution.
• Allocate receipts and payments accurately in the system.
• Collaborate with underwriters on policy terms when necessary.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy
• At least 3 years of related experience in Reinsurance or Non-Life General Insurance Industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work independently and a good team player

Account Payable

• Ensure vendor invoices are correctly matched against issued PO.
• Ensure vendor invoices are complete before payment.

AR Receivable

• Ensure Invoices are correctly billed.
• Generate RMA, Debit Note and Credit Note to customers.

GL and Reports

• Update bank book and prepare monthly reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly physical inventory.

Responsibilities

• Accounting: Profit and Loss Management. Manage budget controls including payment of expenses and taxes, etc. Undertake the preparation of financial statements, corporation tax, VAT and other tax returns.
• Reporting to Authorities: Submitting periodical reports to authorities such as MAS and Japanese regulatory agencies (e.g., Notice 610 Submission of Statistics and Returns). Concurrently manage reports submission to HQ.
• Risk and Operation Management: Assisting the Middle Office Manager to manage credit, market and liquidity risk from the Middle Office’s standpoint. Credit Risk management: Prepare monthly and other periodic reports relating to the bond and loan portfolios as required by Head Office.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of Accounting experience in a Corporate Bank, with exposure handling MAS regulatory reports.
• At least a Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Proficient in the use of Ms Office applications.
• Candidates with proficiency in Japanese language to liaise with Japanese HQ will have an added advantage.
