Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Overseas Accounting Department in SIA Finance Division.

Key Responsibilities
1) Internal control
- Review and complete monthly accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, cash audit checklist, highlight and follow through any abnormalities with accountant and stations.
- Monitor and liaise with stations to ensure they have followed the procedures and policies stipulated in the Finance Manual in their accounting processes.
- Assists to support queries from stations on arising basis.

2) Month-end closing
- Assist with review of station month-end financial closing activities.

3) Accounts Receivables
- Follow up with stations on defaulted debts/aged debts to provide provisions for doubtful debt.

4) General Ledger
- Monitor and ensure prompt clearance of suspense account. As and when required, to assist station in posting the accounting entries for account clearance.

5) Budget and Forecasting
- Business partner with station Business Units (“BUs”) on variance analysis of station’s operational expense incurred and query station for explanations.
- Review stations’ submissions of their quarterly Budgetary Control Statement (“BCS”) reports.
- Assist in station’s operating budget exercise on an annual basis.

6) Operational Accounting
- Assist station’s request for billing to subsidiaries or third parties upon request.
- Handle station’s request of new SAP access in conjunction with the Segregation of Duty (“SOD”) matrix updated to flag out discrepancies.
- Keep track of Business Process Outsourcing vendor’s Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) to ensure they are within the targets set.

7) Others
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (“UAT”) for system enhancements.
- Other assignments and projects as assigned from time to time.

Management Reporting and Financial Operations

• Lead and manage Finance team for full spectrum day-to-day financial operations and overall financial and accounting aspect of the assigned business units.

Other related duties

• Oversee daily accounting function including AP, AR, GL and Bank Reconciliation.
• Generate and send out invoice to customer on time.
• Ensure invoice are in order and are bill correctly.
• Ensure timely and accurate closing of accounts and preparation of monthly financial reports and schedules.
• Perform payment forecast and monitor cashflow.
• Analysis of accounts.
• Liaising with Auditors.
• Any other assignment as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of Diploma in accounting or equivalent
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in freight forwarding industry
• Moderate Microsoft Excel skills i.e. use of excel functions, pivot table etc. is an advantage
• Highly analytical and comfortable with problem solving
• Detailed oriented and able to work under face-pace environment.

Location: Bukit Gombak
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Salary: S$2,800 - S$3,200

Job Overview:

• Responsible for executing financial and accounting operations, ensuring that all transactions are processed promptly and accurately in alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) established with customers. Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely updates for all transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions in the accounting system efficiently and accurately.
• Monitor outstanding AR balances and manage the debt recovery process.
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements, as well as financial and management reports, for review by the Supervisor or Officer-in-Charge.
• Verify expenditure bills, financial records, and reports to ensure compliance with current procedures, guidelines, and accounting practices.
• Conduct briefings and training sessions for finance personnel on policies, procedures, and systems.
• Safeguard financial documents and maintain the confidentiality of customer financial information.
• Address customer queries regarding financial transactions and postings.

Requirements:

• Minimum ITE NITEC in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in finance/accounting.
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
• Team player with strong attention to detail, able to work independently, and possesses analytical skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Requirements for Hiring Freshers or Candidates with 1 Year of Experience:

Educational Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Skills:

1. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
2. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or Tally.
3. Good analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Attitude and Soft Skills:

1. Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
2. Attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Optional Preferences:

1. Internship or coursework in construction finance/accounting is an advantage.
2. Certifications (e.g., ACCA Fundamentals, CAT) may be desirable but not mandatory.
