• Within three months of the anticipated docking period, to create an accurate dry-dock repair specification and go over the work scope in detail with the attending superintendent, site crew, and vessel manager.
• Communicate with shipyard staff to arrange dock space and to get updates on the status of any ongoing repairs.
• To evaluate the several yard quotes, bargain, and create a budget that includes the timing and scope of the dry docking process for management's approval.
• To keep overall dry-docking costs under control and within the allocated budget.
• To compile weekly financial progress reports in order to let the attending superintendent stay informed about the status of the projects while the shipyard is being repaired.
• To keep spending within the allotted budget through ongoing oversight, weekly cost reporting, and identification of rising and falling expenses.
• To assist the DD-Site Team as needed, particularly by examining shipyard bills and settling them in order to save costs
• Examining and negotiating the shipyard's draft invoice in order to save the corporation money on dry docking.
• To bargain with significant vendors and service providers to reduce the cost of the owner's arrangement (paint, spare parts, and services) while repairs are being completed.
• Within 14 days of the ship's departure or the shipyard bill settlement, prepare the DD variance report.
