I) Job Purpose:
The Food Processing Worker is responsible for various tasks in the food manufacturing process. These tasks include preparing raw materials, operating machines, monitoring production, ensuring quality control, packaging finished products, and maintaining cleanliness, safety and quality standards in the production area.
II) Roles & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Raw Materials: Prepare and handle raw food ingredients by washing, sorting, cutting, and measuring ingredients according to production specifications / instructions from the production supervisor.
- Operating Machines: Operate food processing equipment, such as cutters, grinders, saw machine, and etc. And to adjust equipment settings as necessary to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Quality Control: Inspect food products for quality, including checking for defects, weight, and packaging integrity. Report any deviations from quality standards.
- Packaging and Labelling: Package finished food products according to packaging specifications, ensuring products are labelled correctly and comply with regulatory standards.
- Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in the work area by regularly cleaning machines, equipment, and production floors to meet hygiene and safety regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and practices to ensure a safe working environment, including proper handling of tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inventory Management: Assist in tracking raw materials and finished products, reporting inventory levels and shortages to the production supervisor.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and supervisors to ensure efficient production processes and resolve any operational issues.
- Any other work as assigned.
III) Job Requirements:
- Permanent night shift (10pm to 7am), 6-days week from Tuesdays to Sundays.
- Able to work in a very cold environment due to frozen seafood storage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under time constraints.
IV) Qualifications and Skills:
- GCE ‘N’ Level academic qualification or equivalent. Experience working with food safety & food processing in manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Ability to operate production machinery.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
- Experience in operating a reach truck would be an advantage.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
V) Experience:
At least 3 years of working experience in a related field.
