The Accounting and Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations and reporting for two companies: a technology startup scaling rapidly through local and regional expansion, and a medical device distribution company with diverse sales channels. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial health, compliance, and strategic planning to support growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management and Reporting

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both companies.
• Consolidate financial reports and provide key performance metrics to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with local and regional financial regulations and tax requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for auditing and internal reviews.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Develop and manage budgets for the tech startup and medical device distribution company.
• Conduct financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making and fundraising efforts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide actionable insights to management.

3. Fundraising Support for the Technology Startup

• Collaborate with the executive team to prepare financial models and projections for Series A fundraising.
• Support due diligence processes by ensuring accurate and timely provision of financial data.
• Assist in evaluating and implementing funding strategies to support scaling efforts.

4. Revenue and Cash Flow Management

• Oversee revenue recognition and ensure accurate invoicing for:Monthly leasing payments for the tech platform.
• Daily invoicing for medical device sales to hospitals, pharmacies, and online channels.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable to ensure healthy cash flow.
• Implement cost control measures to optimize profitability.

5. Supply Chain and Inventory Management (Medical Device Distribution)

• Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure efficient inventory management.
• Analyze cost structures and recommend improvements in procurement and logistics.
• Support the implementation of robust systems for tracking inventory levels and replenishments.

6. Financial Systems and Automation

• Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting software and tools to improve efficiency.
• Automate financial processes where possible to reduce manual workloads.
• Ensure integration of financial systems with sales and supply chain platforms.

7. Leadership and Collaboration

• Act as a financial advisor to senior management for both companies.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed.

8. Risk Management and Compliance

• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, including medical device standards and tech platform licensing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with exposure to startups or distribution businesses being a plus.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Autocount, Navision) and financial modeling tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities across two distinct businesses.
• Experience with fundraising and investor relations is highly desirable.

Reporting Structure:

This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the technology startup and the General Manager for the medical device distribution company.

The role requires the incumbent to manage the financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and handle various financial reporting tasks.

The individual must be detail-oriented, experienced in accounting, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of all financial records in compliance with applicable accounting principles.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports, providing data for decision-making.
• Handle daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Liaise with auditors and support all audit processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to gather necessary financial data and support organizational objectives.
• Demonstrate a commitment to working full-time at our Batam facility and managing responsibilities independently.

Requirements

• A degree in Accountancy or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Knowledge of Indonesian tax laws is a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Supervisory experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to be stationed in Batam
