Account Collector Role

An Account Collector recovers overdue payments on accounts. Account Collectors track debtors down by phone, digitally, or mail and assist them to make payments by negotiating repayment plans and encouraging them to find alternative payment solutions. Also known as a Collections Agent or Collections Specialist.

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic Account Collector to recover late payments on our accounts. The Account Collector will review clients’ accounts in our database, and interview them to establish their financial resources. Based on this the Account Collector will establish their ability to pay debts. You will ask clients probing questions over the phone to better understand payment objections and use your ability to multitask by typing notes simultaneously.

Top candidates will be articulate and have strong critical thinking and listening skills.

What do we expect from you?

Under the general guidance of the Director of Finance, you are to implement, handle, and monitor all matters relating to customer credit and timely collection of outstanding debts.

How your day looks like?

• Timely management of invoices and receipts.
• Prepare manual invoices & credit notes where and when required.
• Process and apply payments to invoices via various modes of payment methods.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies/enquiries.
• Process and timely issuance of Statement of accounts and follow up on delinquent payments.
• Provide ad hoc support to the operations accounts team.
• Process credit applications, ensuring that clients are notified promptly and professionally.
• Ensure all invoices/statements are issued on a timely basis.
• Report on monthly accounts receivable aging analysis and detailed accounts’ ledgers.
• Guest Ledger and liaison with Front Office.
• Ensure PM accounts & guest in house daily with high balances are checked daily.
• Monitor and pursue the collection of overdue accounts.
• Hold Credit Meetings weekly and write minutes.
• Any Ad-hoc task from Director of Finance

Job Responsibilities:

- Prepare payment vouchers and cheques.

- Enter inventory transactions.

- Handle sub-ledgers’ functions.

- Maintain detailed, perpetual inventory records and produce periodic reports.

- Handle other accounting matters such as verifying creditor’s statements etc.

- Handle banking transactions.

- Upkeep subsidiaries’ accounting transactions. Check and match DO, PO, GIR to suppliers’ invoice.

- Liaise closely with purchasing staff and store staff on suppliers’ documents.

- Filing of accounting documents.

- Project labour cost.

- Maintain good housekeeping in the accounts department.

- Assist the Manager / Executive in the closing of accounts / Auditing

Job Requirements

- Nitec / Diploma in Accounting or equivalen

- 1 - 2 years of relevant experience

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Able to start work immediate

Accounts Executive (Accounts Payable/Oracle)

Responsibilities:

• Verify accounts payable records, process invoices and payments, and perform Statement of Account (SOA) reconciliation.
• Utilize the ERP system to input data, perform AP matching, generate reports, resolve discrepancies, and respond to inquiries from both Internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in the periodic closing process.
• Provide support for system implementation, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Assist with tax and audit-related matters.
• Act as a team player and provide backup support for team members as needed.
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Min Diploma in Accounting/Finance/Business in Accounting.
• Min 2years relevant experience in accounting
• Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel and in Oracle preferred
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
• Able to work independently
