JOB PURPOSE

The Accounts Executive is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to colleagues, clients and stakeholders of the business. He/she will be exposure to full set of accounts of one or more entities in the group and managing both accounts payable and receivable.

CORE ROLES AND CRITICAL WORK FUNCTIONS

General Ledger / Management account

• Administer and monitor the financial system to ensure that financial information is maintained accurately and timely
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures

Accounts Payable / Accounts receivable

• Administer and monitor the AP / AR system in order to ensure that the AP / AR are maintained in an accurate and timely manner
• Coordinates and liaises with other business units on billing and invoices requirement
• Reviews invoices for accuracy & compile source documents
• Sorts documents by account name or number, and processes invoices for payment.
• May perform other clerical duties associated with accounts payable / accounts receivable.
• Verifies and posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
• Prepares statements, invoices and vouchers for suppliers & customers
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the accounting system
• Handle AP / AR balancing and reconciliations.
• Determines credit worthiness of clients and formulates credit and collection policies. Takes appropriate action against delinquent accounts.
• Establishes and maintains accounting practices to ensure data necessary for business operations is accurate and reliable.
• Ensures the settlement of outstanding accounts according to contract terms. Contacts customers by telephone and/or letter.
• Reviews customers’ credit limits and accounts, sends monthly statements, issues escalation or final notice letters, and refers unpaid accounts for debt collection or legal action.

• At least a Diploma/Degree in Finance / Accountancy or equivalent
• At least two (2) years of working experience in the related field.

Overall Function

The Accounts Receivable Accountant will be responsible for interfacing directly with the company's customers to ensure timely collection of over account balances. This individual will analyze and reconcile customer receivable balances.

• Monitor AR aging report and follow up with a collection for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities

Overview: The Accounts Officer is responsible for managing the full set of accounts and handling the day-to-day finance and administrative functions efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily accounting and finance duties, including receivables and payables processes, general ledger, tax, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
• Manage timely closing processes and reconciliations, including intercompany transactions.
• Support operational teams in maintaining strong relationships with customer and vendor.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Our client, a leading quality food provider and wholesaler, is looking for suitable talents to join their growing business as Accounts Executive (AP).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the Accounts Payable process including the booking of entries, verifying vendor invoices with supporting documents, and issuing payment, ensuring that local GST is properly accounted for
• Handle staff claims and audit support
• Handle daily cash reconciliation and quarterly group bank reconciliation
• Monitoring and keeping track of the foreign currency funding requirement
• Issuance of manual debit/credit notes
• Liaising with Operations and external vendors on accounting-related matters, especially the payables related matters including supplier’s statement reconciliation
• Maintain fixed asset schedule and run monthly depreciation from system
• Posting of monthly IFRS16 entries generated from system
• Responsible for the month-end and year-end closing, i.e. Accrual journal, prepare balance sheet schedules
• Assist in ad-hoc finance project in automation of the task
• Assist in other finance work-related tasks and cover other colleagues when necessary
• Any other ad-hoc duties assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Accounting or any equivalent qualifications
• Prior experience as an accounts executive / finance executive or similar roles, preferably in Food / F&B industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlooks, Words, Excel & Navision
• Team player with a positive attitude, strong analytical and excellent communication skills
• Possess a willing-to-learn and proactive attitude

Taxation duties:-

-Preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses.

-Staying up-to-date on changing tax regulations to ensure compliance with tax deadlines and requirements.

-Conducting tax research to address client enquiries.

-Identifying possible tax credits, deductions and exemptions for clients.

Requirements:-

* Relevant qualification in Accounting or a related field

* 1-3 years of experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably within a small practice or accounting firm

* Proficient in the use of accounting software such as XERO or QuickBooks or UBS accounting

* Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills

* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
