Job Purpose

The Accounts Executive reports to the Finance Manager. He does work that is about accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax filing, data compilation, billing, payroll and other accounting tasks. He assists the Finance Manager with monthly and yearly finalisation of accounts. He prepares the trial balance, basic financial statements and simple consolidated financial statements. He may be involved in finance-related projects and systems testing.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Perform a full range of coordination and administrative duties including data entry, document filing, invoice verification and preparation of payment
2. Perform accurate data entry for both Account Receivable (AR) and Account Payable (AP) including checking and validation.
3. Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank accounts

Education & Experience

• Min. Diploma in Finance/ Accountancy
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in Accounting/Accountancy
• Experience in SAP and XERO systems with good MS Excel skills essential
• Experience with bank upload files and bank reconciliation a must

- Degree/Diploma in Business, Human Resources or related field of study

- Min 3 years of accounting and HR admin experience

- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, laws, and other compliance requirements.

Job Description & Requirements

• Process transactions accurately and efficiently

• Simple accounting / bookkeeping duties

• Issue receipts/invoice/summons, including cashiering duties

• Prepare journal entries into accounting system

• Prepare accounting statements (e.g. trial balances, P&L, inventory lists, etc)

• Issue cheque payments, process claims

• Answer residents’ queries (both inbound calls and outbound calls)

• Update system on call notes pertaining to correspondences with residents

• Assist in follow up paperwork (e.g. issue of statement of accounts, etc)

• Liaise with banks, lawyers, etc as part of the day-to-day operational process

• Assist with daily & monthly financial closing activities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain clients’ accounts – accounts receivables, accounts payables, reconciliations, and invoicing
2. Support in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing of accounts
3. Assist in GST Filing and maintaining proper filing of accounting statements and records
4. Ensure the accuracy of financial documents as well as compliance with relevant laws and regulations
5. Liaise with clients on statutory and corporate compliance matters
6. Take up additional duties to support the team

Qualifications:

1. Diploma/Degree in Finance or Accountancy with 2-3 years of relevant working experience

Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable

• Generate invoices, delivery orders, credit/debit notes, and statements of accounts
• Follow up on outstanding AR invoices
• Track project maintenance and billing milestones
• Update receipts and maintain AR files
• Prepare AR aging reports and escalate collection issues
• Communicate with stakeholders on billing or payment queries
• Perform GST output tax reconciliation

Month-End Closing

• Prepare monthly schedules
• Complete other assigned duties

Requirements:

• Diploma in Accountancy or its equivalent
• Min 2 - 3 years of relevant working experience
• Good accounting skills, preferably a full set of account
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as ABSS and MYOB
• Good attitude and ability to work independently as well as a team
• Meticulous, detailed, resourceful, and willing to take up additional responsibility
