Job Description & Requirements

• Process customer orders.
• Process purchase orders to vendors.
• Liaise with vendors on the rescheduling of products. Escalate and resolve line-down problems.
• Monitor delivery schedules and expedite delivery of purchases.
• Investigate and resolve problems with deliveries.
• Process returns /claims. Arrange the return of damaged stocks to vendors.
• Liaise and follow up with vendors on shortages or excess shipments.
• Responsible for providing weekly reports as required.
• Coordinates date and times of delivery to customers based on coordination with all departments applicable.
• Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
• Check & verify invoices received from forwarders or courier companies before a/c processes payment, and raise SS documents if the charges are supposed to revert back to suppliers or customers.
• Any other related projects/duties not indicated above will be assigned by the superior from time to time.
• Liaison with sales, assist in processing quotations and orders loading.
• To ensure timely delivery of shipments.
• Constantly work on improving purchasing processes and developing cost-reduction initiatives.
• minimum GCE “O” level or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of working experience in customer service or buyer field.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
• Knowledge of ACCPAC will be an advantage
• Effective communication skills and negotiation skills.

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our research team to study plant epigenetics and crop functional genomics. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in performing the mechanisms controlling neural development, pruning, and neurodegenerative diseases using both fruit fly and human brain organoids. The aim of the projects is also to explore mechanisms of neuronal pruning in fruit flies and its implications for autism. The successful candidate is motivated and expected to provide assistance and support for a couple of interesting projects, team up with PhD students or postdocs, and assist in maintaining lab infrastructure. A capable candidate may also have the opportunity to lead his or her research project.

Requirements:

• MSc or BSc (Hons) in molecular, cellular biology, neurobiology, or related biological fields
• Prior experience in lab research
• Ability to design experiments and work independently
• Experience with molecular, cellular biology, neurobiology is preferred
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a research team, able to assist in lab organization and administration
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
