The Assistant Accounts Manager will oversee the full set of accounts, General Ledger (GL) and financial. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide financial insights for decision-making, and support the company's business.

The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with company objectives

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and provide regular reports and presentations to senior management

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements at group and company level

• Handle the full set of accounts and GL

• Manage GST/tax calculations and submission

• Establish and implement effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks and protect company assets

• Apply knowledge of internal controls and best practices to ensure compliance

• Forecast and manage cash flow to ensure adequate funds for daily operations and strategic initiatives

• At least 7 years of experience in the finance field

• Accounting or finance Diploma / Degree preferred • ACA/ACCA/CPA qualified or equivalent

• Excellent knowledge of internal controls and best practices

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong knowledge of planning and performance processes, including annual budget, monthly forecast and periodic business reviews

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Ability to manage full Accounts Payable duties.
2. To perform GRN/ bank reconciliation
3. Effective control & plan day-to-day cash operation balances.
4. Upload documents / match invoices and PO/WO, check content matches order and contacts into the accounting system.
5. Process invoice & petty claim payment and to upload bank Giro payment & remittance application.
6. Prepare repayment, advance payment, retention & rental lease schedules.
7. Prepare recurring journal entries.
8. Update Fixed Assets schedules.
9. Ability to prepare GST return (Form 5).
10. Check & review AP aging and vendor statement of accounts for missing or overdue payments
11. Addoc duties & MTI statistic survey.

Requirements:

1. Diploma in Finance & Accountancy or GEC “A” Level.
2. Good communication skills in English, good in Excel.
3. Meticulous and accuracy with figures to perform data entries.
4. Able to mutli-task & have strong sense of responsibility to meet tight deadline.

Candidates are expected to:-

• Assume the role of the Head of the deck department and Master’s deputy;
• Ensure cargo operations and related safety measures are implemented;
• Liaise with shore authorities and ensure awareness of Safety Management System;
• Ensure deck crew follow safe working practices as defined in company procedures;
• Identify potential ship hazards associated with deck operations and advise the Master accordingly;
• Instruct Cadets/Junior Officers/Ratings on relevant QHSSE and shipboard procedures;
• Perform stability and related calculations for cargo and ballasting;
• Notify the Master immediately of any defects onboard ship which may affect safety and structural integrity of ship which may put the marine environment at risk;
• Assign Deck Officers/Ratings specific roles and responsibilities with respect to the deck department as defined in the Safety Management System; and
• Investigate non-conformances and apply corrective action(s) in consultation with the Master.

The ideal candidate must:-

• Possess a Certificate of Competency (Deck) Class 2; and
• Possess at least 3 years of experience as a Chief Mate onboard a container vessel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the timely, consistent and accurate preparation of the Company's consolidated management accounts
• Assist in ensuring accounting practices comply with local legislation and Hirata Japan’s accounting requirements
• Assist in preparing financial analytical data for consolidated results analysis report
• Monthly working sheet preparation of project status for WIP
• In-charge of Job Costing for all projects
• Making monthly GIRO/remittance payments to vendors
• General duties including filing, liaison with external parties and confirming accounts balances

Requirements

• Diploma in Finance or Accounting
• 2 years relevant experience in preparing BS/PL statements
• Positive work attitude, willing to put in extra effort during peak period
• Strong analytical skills with prior experience in Finance ERP system
• Excellent Ms Excel & Powerpoint skills
