Job Responsibilities

• Ensure proper filing of documents and maintenance/ updating of records
• Process claims and payments
• Organise luncheons, coordinate with restaurants and plan the necessary logistics
• Manage drivers and planning the daily schedule
• Coordinate the delivery of festive gifts including wines
• Assist in the travel arrangements and accommodation for business associates
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Private Secretarial qualification/ GCE “A”/ “O” level
• Minimum 3 years of administrative/ secretarial support work experience
• Possess professional ethics and carry out all duties with complete discretion and a high standard of confidentiality
• Good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly organised, ability to work independently and possess initiative
• Meticulous and able to work under a fast-paced environment

What the role is

The Development Control and Licensing Division (DCLD) ensures that environmental considerations are factored into land use planning and development control of new developments, and that the proposed developments are in compliance with environment health and pollution control requirements. DCLD also processes NEA licences, which covers areas such as radiation protection, pollution control, waste management, public cleansing, vector control and fumigation.

What you will be working on

You will be part of a team that carries out environmental planning and control so that environmental factors are being incorporated for proposed developments/projects to safeguard the environment. Your primary duties will include the following:

• Evaluate and process development control plans, building plans, and detailed plans (including application of Building Information Modelling to submissions), as well as ensure that environmental factors and related considerations (i.e. preventive and mitigation measures) are being incorporated in the design of the proposed developments
• Evaluate and process reports and technical studies related to environmental impacts on air, water, land and noise pollution.
• Evaluate and process pollution control studies, noise assessments, site specific impact assessments, environmental site assessments and climate change adaptation reports.
• Use modelling tools for air dispersion modelling, noise modelling and quantitative risk assessment to establish environmental impact and risks associated with the developments
• Evaluate land-use proposals for major infrastructures and agencies’ projects as well as providing assessment on environmental matters (i.e. environmental management, pollution control, public health and safety issues) to ensue a liveable and sustainable environment
• Review environmental planning norms and requirements to keep abreast with the developments in Singapore, leveraging on technology and state of the art environmental control measures
• Manage contract by working closely with the appointed contractor(s), monitoring their work progress and performance to ensure the works are carried out in satisfactorily and timely manner

What we are looking for

• Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Degree in Science (Chemistry)
• Good knowledge of environmental management, preferably with experience in handling environmental site assessments or land pollution
• Self-motivated, independent, resourceful and able to foster teamwork
• Good analytical, writing and interpersonal communication skills
• Good knowledge of environmental modelling tools, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and interpretation building plans
• As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
