The Research Assistant will participate in seagrass research, with a specific focus on examining seagrass reproduction. A large component of the work is to be conducted in the field. Using samples from multiple marine species that have been collected along an approximate 6000km east to west transect from Sumatra to Papua New Guinea, the candidate will work on a project that seeks to explain why the marine ecosystems of the Coral Triangle are so biologically diverse, what facilitates and what restricts gene flow in the region, and finally, how can this information be used to advance marine conservation planning in Southeast Asia.

Support the daily laundry operations for the Nursing Home. These duties are not limited to the following:

• Collection of soiled linen from wards
• Washing and drying of linens.
• Folding and sorting of linens.
• Delivery of processed linens back to the respective wards.
• Conduct daily quality control (QC) checks on linen washed.
• Conduct daily laundry equipment accountability / serviceability checks to ensure seamless operations
• Perform work related duties as assigned by the Head of Department / Reporting Officer.

Main Responsibilities:

Corporate and Marketing Communications

• Support Assistant Director (Corporate Communications) in media relations work
• Assist in visits/courtesy calls by external parties
• Work with vendors to design and produce collaterals for branding/profiling
• Procurement of corporate gifts and managing corporate gift inventory
• Design and send EDMs (when needed)
• Updating content on ReCAAP ISC website

Social Media

• Support Assistant Director (Corporate Communications) in generating content to educate and engage followers on ReCAAP ISC social media channels (Twitter and LinkedIn).
• Photo taking and drafting social media posts to publicise the Centre’s events and meetings/engagements by ReCAAP ISC Executive Director
• Monitoring comments/responses to social media posts.
• Keeping track of and reporting on social media analytics to increase engagement and followers

Secretariat

• Support Secretariat work – e.g. drafting letters/official correspondences and reports, managing invitations for annual Governing Council (GC) Meeting of ReCAAP ISC, drafting meeting minutes, producing the Executive Director’s Report
• Copywriting and working with appointed vendors to produce ReCAAP 20thanniversary collaterals (e.g. logo, microsite, coffeetable book)

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in communications
• Minimum 2-3 years of work experience; preferably in communications-related fields
• Excellent writing skills.
• Adept in social media/digital communications, including analytics and data measurement
• IT-savvy and proficient in use of design software (e.g. Canva)

About ReCAAP ISC

The Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia Information Sharing Centre (ReCAAP ISC) is the first regional government-to-government agreement to promote and enhance cooperation against piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia.

The Agreement entered into force on 4 September 2006 with 14 Asian countries as Contracting Parties, and the Information Sharing Centre was established on 29 November 2006. To date, 21 States have become Contracting Parties to ReCAAP.

To fulfil its vision as the Information Hub for combating piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia, ReCAAP ISC enhances regional cooperation through information sharing, capacity building and cooperative arrangements.

At the 12th Governing Council Meeting in 2018, the Council announced that ReCAAP ISC has met the criteria to be a Centre of Excellence for information sharing in combating piracy and armed robbery against ships at sea.

ReCAAP ISC, an International Organisation, marked its 15th anniversary milestone in 2021.

Job Description

• Provide general clerical, data entry and administration support in sections of the Marina.
• Perform secretarial duties for the Marina Executive and Manager.
• Assist with organizing, formulating and co-ordinating book-keeping procedures for the profit center.
• Maintain and distribute Marina personnel documents.
• Responsible for mail distribution of both incoming and outgoing material to their respective departments.
• Order office supplies through the correct procedures.
• Maintain the display of all necessary license requirements according to legal requirements.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the management.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of admin support work experience.
