Job Description:

• Lead the end-to-end recruitment process from sourcing, facilitating interviews, conduction reference checks when needed and making employment offers.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with both internal and external sourcing channels, ensuring that all positions are filled in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Review recruitment and sourcing strategies on a regular basis.
• Manage strategic initiative such as graduate hire programs, internships, job fairs, etc.
• Update internal databases with new hire information.
• Prepare HR documentation for employees P-files and ensure required personnel records are in order.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR and/or administrative support roles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of HRIS and payroll software is preferred.

The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 30-month contract at the Psychology and Child & Human Development Department.

Project Title: Identifying and assessing integrative STEM competencies for secondary school students in Singapore.

Project Introduction: The proposed research is an exploratory study on what constitutes key STEM competencies and how the assessment of these key STEM competencies can be integrated with-in the school curriculum through a learning progression approach. There are three main objectives to the proposed project. First, we aim to identify key integrative STEM competencies for secondary school students by reaching a consensus amongst subject matter experts on these constituents.

Second, we aim to select one top ranked STEM competency, that was identified in the first aim, to assess, monitor and develop systematically. Accordingly, a learning progression of one essential competency will be developed and validated. A learning progression is fitting as it combines a developmental pathway based on research with appropriate assessment tasks and pedagogical guides for teachers. Third, we aim to explore how the learning progression can be integrated within the school curriculum. Information will be obtained from qualitative interviews with involved educators. The current project can act as a case study for other schools to model.
