Job Description

The Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the NUS Business School’s strategic fundraising efforts. This position will involve reaching out and managing relationships with donors and prospects, particularly corporate partners and alumni. It will also involve coordinating fundraising activities and identifying new opportunities for engagement and support. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and strategic thinker with a passion for advancing educational excellence.

1. Fundraising

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising initiatives to support the School’s priorities
• Manage and coordinate corporate and other giving campaigns
• Collaborate with team to identify and pursue new gift and funding opportunities
• Facilitate all phases of the gift cycles, including initiating contact, face-to-face visits, cultivating relationships, moving potential donors to solicitation and closure, and stewarding donors
• Create and present compelling solicitations and proposals to potential donors

2. Donor Relations and Stewardship

• Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, donors and corporate partners
• Coordinate stewardship activities to acknowledge and recognize donor contributions to ensure a positive donor experience
• Organise events and initiatives to engage potential and existing donors
• Prepare impact reports to update donors on progress

3. Prospect Research and Management

• Conduct research and analysis on donors/prospects to determine giving interests and potential as well as funding sources
• Compile databases/lists for prospect identification and lead generation
• Track industry, education and philanthropy-related news that could impact giving
• Maintain an updated database of prospects and manage donor records
• Develop and implement strategies for donor cultivation and stewardship

4. Gift Administration

• Support the team in gift processing and administration
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders
• Track and analyse data on fundraising progress and outcomes
• Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Fundraising or similar capacity is advantageous
• Experience in higher education or in philanthropy will be a plus
• Proven track record in successful fundraising or selling to individuals and or/organisations
• Skilled relationship builders and able to manage a mixed portfolio of individual, corporate, and prospective donors
• Strong listener with excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
• A high degree of customer service orientation
• An ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with respect to prospects and donors’ information
• Experience in market research, database/portfolio/CRM management is desirable
• Creative problem-solving and good project management skills

Company's Framework & SMM Knowledge Repository

1. Assist in the development, management, and implementation of the SingEdExcel framework across schools.

2. Support the Vice President in monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating the effectiveness of the framework and the knowledge repository.

3. Coordinate with school leaders and staff to ensure effective adoption and implementation of standardised policies and procedures.

4. Maintain documentation of all policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible in the knowledge repository.

EduTrust Compliance & Support

1. Support the Vice President in serving as an internal assessor for schools preparing for EduTrust certification.

Data Protection Compliance

1. Assist in the development and implementation of data protection policies and procedures.

2. Support in conducting data protection risk assessments and audits across all schools.

3. Monitor compliance with data protection laws and regulations and report findings to the Group DPO.

4. Coordinate data protection training and awareness programmes for staff.

5. Maintain comprehensive records of data processing activities and assist in the preparation of reports on data protection compliance.

Job Specification

• Recognised bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Quality Management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, compliance management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with data protection and privacy laws, and their implementation in organisational processes.

• Knowledge of quality/compliance management systems and frameworks (e.g., EduTrust, ISO 21001) is essential.

• Experience with quality improvement initiatives and system implementation is highly regarded.

The Department of Architecture invites applications for two Tenure Track Assistant Professor positions in Architectural Design.

The Department of Architecture in the College of Design and Engineering is ranked among the top 10 in the world, and Asia’s best in Architecture/Built Environment, by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (2023). Research by Design (RxD) at the Department of Architecture seeks qualified, interdisciplinary, and inspirational candidates with expertise in creative practice research (research through design, as opposed to research for design or research about design). We seek candidates with expertise in design with foundations in decarbonized & planet-positive futures, warming world futures, social justice, and inclusive futures, with a particular focus on being situated in the tropical geographies of Southeast Asia and the equator. Candidate research should be manifested through a robust portfolio of creative practice outputs and substantiated through forms of peer review and public and societal engagement, with evidence of leading with anticipatory and future-forward design ideas that impact evolving society and the profession.
