Job Summary

We are currently recruiting a position for an assistant research officer to join Wilmar’s corporate lab (WIL@NUS). The potential candidate will be primarily involved in data analytics and machine learning. The project objectives are to model analytical data collected from Wilmar's factories or R&D centres to predict quality parameters related to the product.

Main responsibilities of the incumbent (not limited to):

• Manage and pre-process data
• Ability to code and script based on specified tasks
• Statistical analysis and machine learning experience in the following area
• Forecasting using time series data
• Neural networks, in particular recurrent and long short term memory networks
• Versatile in applying computational techniques to solve open problems
• Participate in seminars and research-in-progress meetings within the team and collaborators

Job requirements:

Role description:

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in providing essential support for the efficient functioning of our technology infrastructure. This position combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on involvement in various IT tasks, making it an ideal opportunity for someone with a passion for technology and excellent organizational skills.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide IT asset inventory check & update semi-annually
• Keep track of the equipment movement for the entire company by maintaining an asset management system such as serial number, date installed, etc.
• Report generation and any missing asset-tags
• Validate and process service request tickets regularly
• Work in a team to implement the service request tickets
• Update tracking system record accordingly
• Manage and ensure smooth service request workflow
• Liaise with users to understand further the requirements and validate the service request
• Upkeep the storage area and service centre in good and clean condition
• Manage and ensure order supplies within the budget guidelines of the department
• Responsible for creating and processing the purchase requisition according to operation forecasted budget
• Update the information in the budget tracking list regularly
• Process orders and schedule deliveries for supplies, equipment, and services
• Keep the monthly budget actualization according to the schedule
• Provide any other ad-hoc assistance where necessary and all administrative work within the department

*Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and project logs.

*Prepare reports on project status, highlighting risks, issues, and solutions.

Quality Assurance:

*Ensure that all work is carried out according to approved plans and standards.

*Assist in inspections and testing to confirm compliance with quality and safety regulations.

Procurement and Logistics:

*Coordinate with procurement teams for materials, tools, and equipment required for the project.

*Track deliveries to ensure they align with project timelines.

Cost and Budget Monitoring:

*Support the monitoring of project budgets and expenses.

*Prepare cost estimates and assist in managing financial resources efficiently.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
