Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· 2-4 years of work experience in a physical trading environment (a major, trading house or similar).
· Good understanding and network in the European / Asian chartering market.
· Knowledge of cross barrel oil markets (Crude, distillate, light ends, fuel oil).
· Knowledge of industry which includes a strong understanding of the various types of shipping contracts that are undertaken in order to ensure the most cost-effective solutions for the traders.
· Quick to understand links between information and possible impact on P&L/optionality.
· Technical shipping experience would be advantageous and experience in operations essential.
· Strong decision-making, negotiation, analytical, project management and interpersonal skills.
· An effective communicator internally and team player to further establish strong relationships both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
· Analyse the CPP/DPP freight market to review existing trends and help to develop new strategies based on supply and demand.
· Build and develop new business pipelines to increase the organisation's market share across all markets.
· Develop and maintain the organisation's portfolio of clients in the region.
· Foster and deepen relationships with clients.
· Oversee negotiations relating to ship chartering.
Key Relationships
· Strong rapport with the different product Traders (Crude, distillate, light ends, fuel oil).
· Operations; Daily dialogue with Operators, Claims and Deals Desk based out of Athens.
· Chartering; Working closely, sharing ideas with colleagues in the various shipping departments and offices.
· Bunker procurement team.
· Heads of respective departments.
