Overview

As the Lead Engineer at Synapxe, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT Systems. As an experienced Systems Engineer, you will continue to optimise systems performance to ensure its availability. The role will allow you to contribute to the overall success of Synapxe and public healthcare.

Role and Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

• Lead the design and deployment of infrastructure solutions such as Server OS, Active Directory, VMware and related services.
• Ensure the architecture aligns with business objectives and best practices.

Systems Enhancement and Maintenance:

• Administer and maintain servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and networking equipment.
• Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Implement monitoring tools and systems to proactively detect and resolve performance issues.
• Continuously optimize system performance and capacity.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical systems and data.
• Conduct regular testing of recovery procedures.

Troubleshooting and Resolution:

• Oversee the assessment of risks to systems.
• Identify complex system issues to provide advisory to the stakeholders.
• Provide escalation support for issues presented by the user.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer systems, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of server administration, operating systems (Windows and Linux/Unix), virtualization technologies, and networking concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Job Description

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading multi-disciplinary institute devoted to developing new paradigms for understanding biological functions in health and diseases from the perspective of cell, tissue and organ mechanics/dynamics and mechano-signal transduction. The institute operates on a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with an extensive infrastructure supported by core facilities dedicated to technology such as state-of-the-art light microscopy, nano- and micro- fabrication, and computing.

A Research Assistant position is available in the Single-Molecule Biophysics Lab at the Mechanobiology Institute. The Research Assistant will assist in the research of the team by contributing to building and maintaining magnetic tweezers instruments and training other group members to use them. He or she will also share the workload of single-molecule manipulation experiments. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Building, testing, and maintaining magnetic tweezers instrument
• Share workload on single-molecule studies of mechanosensing proteins

Qualifications

1. Minimal Bachelor’s degree, college background in Physics;
2. Capable of building fluorescence microscopes independently;
3. Extensive undergraduate research experience related microscope building and optics.
4. Skillful in Labview and MatLab programming.
5. Skillful in imaging analysis and imaging correlation analysis.
6. Experiences in DNA and protein biochemistry as well as single-molecule manipulation

· Assists in observing and reporting patient’s condition and progress

· Assists nurses in carrying out procedures

· Observes, collects and tests specimens as instructed

· Assists with admission and orientation of conscious patients with stable condition

· Maintains clean and safe environment

· Assists with general duties as assigned by Nurse Manager/Senior Nurse Manager

Requirements:

· Completed HCA course

· Able to commit to 3 rotating shifts
