Job Purpose

ServiceNow Administrator / Developer / Engineer focuses on the technical and logistical deployment and maintenance of cloud-based solutions that meet client’s business needs – primarily developing ServiceNow modules and/or Web Services to exchange data between ServiceNow and other technology systems using software development best practices.

The ServiceNow Administrator / Developer / Engineer will receive directions from the ServiceNow Technical Lead or ServiceNow Technical Architect, and will also be responsible for requirement scoping, tool configuration, solution development and achieving technical milestones throughout the lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement Service Catalog workflows, ITIL processes, ITAM modules within ServiceNow platform and integrations with external systems based on customer requirements.

Ensures each artifact produced, each configured technical component, and all personal interactions are of the highest quality.

Communicates technical problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Create templates for unique agency requirements, reports, dashboards, flows and email notifications.

• Establish database performance baseline and executing workload tests such as replication, backup & recovery, log shipping, scalability, partitioning etc.
• Responsible for Database sizing, capacity planning, performance tuning and database account management.
• Review release notes and upgrade or patch database software based on maintenance schedules.
• Create primary database storage structures (tablespaces), primary objects (tables, views, indexes) after application developers have designed an application.
• Define user access and enable data distribution to the right end user in an appropriate format and in a timely manner.
• Maintain and monitor systems to ensure optimal performance that meets established Service Level Agreements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies

Database Administrator

• MS SQL operation support skill set.
• Experience in MS SQL AlwaysON AG installation, hardening, upgrade, patching.
• Mongo DB, Postgres DB, Oracle DB support skill set a plus

Responsible for managing, monitoring, securing, and optimizing database systems, including overseeing migrations, backups, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and enforcing security standards to ensure data integrity and system reliability.

• Lead and provide technical advice to junior database administrators.
• Technical lead and mentor to junior database administrators.
• Lead and manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
• Provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support.
• Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
• Lead and monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & availability.
• Lead and monitor the agreed service level, document & maintain the configuration of the databases; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
