Job Summary: The Database Administrator will be responsible for performing Database
Administration and Management for databases hosted on premise, in private cloud, or
public cloud. This role includes managing various database technologies, ensuring
database availability, and maintaining database security and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Management:
o Support and manage various databases including Oracle, MSSQL, DB2,SAP HANA, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and others.
o Perform database installation, setup, and administration on different platforms (Linux, Windows, Exadata).
o Create and manage database objects, set up and administer DataGuard, Active DataGuard, AOAG, replication, and mirroring.
2. Incident and Problem Management:
o Respond to database incidents according to severity levels and meet service level requirements.
o Handle high-pressure situations, identify problems, and make quick decisions to resolve issues.
o Adhere to incident management workflows and procedures.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain and update database documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP), guidelines, and daily checklists.
o Provide timely and accurate reports on database performance, capacity planning, and incident analysis.
4. Collaboration and Coordination:
o Work closely with third-party vendors, application teams, and infrastructure support teams.
o Participate in transition planning and support the onboarding of databases and related technologies.
5. Compliance and Training:
o Ensure compliance with company policies, information security guidelines, and health and safety regulations.
o Provide continuous training to enhance knowledge and skills in database administration and management.
Qualifications:
• Education: Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and management.
• Certifications:
o Relevant certifications such as OCP, MCSE, Oracle Exadata, AWS Solution Associate.
• Skills:
o Strong technical knowledge of database management systems and technologies.
o Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
• Ability to work on different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• On standby and contactable 24/7 for support and escalation.
