Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Infrastructure Analyst to manage the operational aspects of various enterprise applications, including Websphere, IBM MQ, QlikSense, SharePoint, Pega, and others. This role involves providing critical application and infrastructure support, participating in architecture discussions, and ensuring systems are secure, patched, and running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Ownership:
· Take ownership of multiple application products, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
· Manage application patching, updates, and support (e.g., Websphere, IBM MQ, QlikSense, SharePoint, Pega).
Architecture and Integration Support:
· Participate in application architecture sessions with build teams.
· Provide inputs on integration points, including web services, MQ interfaces, and SFTP.
Operational Processes:
· Define and implement operational processes, including OS-level and application-level patching.
· Perform operational housekeeping, archival, and backup/recovery activities.
Security and Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with government-level security standards, including system hardening and vulnerability scanning.
· Maintain a strong security posture and apply a security-first mindset in all tasks.
Troubleshooting and Support:
· Diagnose and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues.
· Provide on-site support for incidents, including after-hours, when necessary.
Monitoring and Maintenance:
· Continuously monitor IT systems and applications, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
· Maintain IT assets and support ongoing project needs.
Top Must-Have Skills:
Basic Networking Knowledge:
· Understanding of network concepts and configurations.
Basic Server Administration:
· Familiarity with Windows and Unix operating systems.
Enterprise Architecture Understanding:
· Experience with enterprise 3-tier architecture, including front-end, middleware, and backend components.
Good-to-Have Skills (Optional):
Agile Processes and Tools:
· Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools to support the SDLC.
Scripting:
· Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or PowerShell.
Web Application Knowledge:
· Understanding of web applications from user interaction to backend servers and databases.
Virtualization and Cloud:
· Knowledge of virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing infrastructure.
IT Security:
· Experience with security hardening and vulnerability assessments.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Relevant certifications in networking, security, or system administration are a plus.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and in a team, with a flexible approach to after-hours support when required.
