• Model transport and carrier scattering in devices operating in extreme ambient conditions

• Collaborate with diverse teams, including process integration, characterization, and circuit design engineers, to analyze and troubleshoot device-related issues during
development

• Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience, and lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements

• Work closely with both internal and external customers to understand customer issues and align their demands. And grow this wide-bandgap team to ~5 headcounts in the
next 3 years.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field

• >10 years industrial experience for high power device design and modeling

• Deep knowledge of high voltage, high power MOSFETs (including Planar, Trench, S-J MOSFETs, and IGBTs) design and device characterization on 4H-SiC & GaN substrates.

• Solid understanding of wide-bandgap semiconductor materials and the strong physics of MOSFET devices

• Ability to teach and transfer knowledge to junior staff members

• Ability to effectively communicate and plan with customers regarding their needs, issues, and demands

THE ROLE:

As a member of the SoC Physical Integration team, you'll interface with various engineering groups, including architecture, design, CAD, software, and product engineering, across various geographies to work towards the physical/electrical verification and tape out of AMD SoC FPGA/ACAP devices. Common essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Defining and developing flows and methodologies for chip level integration
• Developing tools for design verification or efficiency
• Designing (RTL and custom), verifying, and integrating FPGA/ACAP sub-blocks
• Coordinating activities between different design groups to ensure smooth integration
• Executing chip level physical verification
• Executing chip level electrical verification

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Basic understanding of FPGA architecture
• Knowledge of and/or experience with design and verification tools such as Virtuoso and Calibre
• Knowledge of and/or experience with P&R tools
• Fundamental circuit design knowledge including simulation experience with Spice and Verilog
• Strong debug skills
• Scripting experience using Perl, Python, TCL, C-shell, Make and/or other scripting languages
• Knowledge and experience with basic Unix data management and job control
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS with 2+ years of exp or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related equivalent

• Develop control solution related to Semiconductor equipment.
• Design electrical system includes interlock, power distribution, digital/analog signal, I/O, etc
• Manage external vendors or contractors to deliver sub-systems that meet design specification and reliability
• Responsible for equipment safety, manage equipment compliance and certification on standards such as SEMI, CE, etc
• Integrate and test subsystems

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years working experience in capital / semicon equipment electrical system design
• Familiar with AC & DC application, motors, sensors, etc
• Experience in semiconductor equipment industry or high precision automation equipment industry
• Familiar with communication protocol, such as Ethernet, RS232, etc
• Working knowledge of electrical systems including motion, temperature measurement, PID loops, and safety interlock circuits.
• Strong diagnostic skills and capable of resolving electrical noise, grounding, and signal integrity issues
• Experience in Electrical CAD tools
• Experience in PCB design is an advantage
