Job Description & Requirements

• Responsible to the Principal Engineer, Piping for the preparation of design as per codes / standards and client’s specifications, requisitions for materials, equipment, valves, etc., and for the timely completion of each planned engineering activity assigned to him / her.
• Review of piping specification.
• Review piping stress analysis calculation.
• Review and finalize of piping routing, piping arrangement and support.
• Review design data for missing and / or ambiguities information.
• Reporting project progress to Principal Engineer, Piping on a weekly basis.
• Implementation of Engineering Procedure, drafting Standards and Quality Management.
• Preparation of proposals / estimations for equipment and tankage works.
• Review engineering calculation and technical specifications of storage tanks, pressure vessels and various mechanical equipment.
• Evaluate vendor’s bids and highlight deviations and omissions to purchasing for further clarifications with vendor.
• Perform any other responsibilities as directed by immediate supervisor.

Qualification & Experience generally required

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
• Min 8 years relevant working experience in Mechanical engineering in oil and gas sector or offshore sector.
• Know to use spring hanger in stress analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and Caesar ll Stress Analysis Software.
• Prefer to have at least 5 year of piping engineering related working experience.
• Prefer to have experience in Offshore/Shipyard project, Rig building/Ship building.
• Prefer to have experience in FPSO project, both topsides & marine.

The Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) Pillar invites applications to fill several Tenure Track faculty positions. Appointments will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Highly qualified applicants with a substantial track record of research accomplishments, an active research program, and strong teaching experience may be considered for appointment as Tenured Full Professor.

Faculty duties include teaching subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels, research, supervision of students, advising undergraduate student projects, and service to the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and the community. At the start of employment, candidates should hold a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates for senior positions must demonstrate the ability to successfully create and manage an independent research program. Exceptional candidates in all areas will be considered, but priority will be given to those in the following areas.

The Role
This position constitutes a very exciting and unique opportunity to mature with, and help shape the design area at SUTD. Along the way, the candidate will interact with the governing bodies in Singapore, the funding agencies and the industrial eco-system.

The successful candidate will work across all areas of academic activity: education, research, service to the university, and outreach. The candidate will be part of an innovative team, where he/she will utilise his/her demonstrated skills in blended learning to develop and deliver high-quality student-centred undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He/she will make a positive contribution to an already established innovation culture and mindset for students at all levels, and engage and work with industry on challenging research problems.
The candidate will engage in engineering design research and teaching at all levels, from first-year undergraduate to PhD level, in multiple design courses, either co-teaching, leading a team of colleagues, or being the sole instructor. Courses that have to do with topics like Engineering Design Innovation, Design Thinking, and Design Science (to name just a few) from an Engineering perspective, heavy on research tools and research methods.

Requirements

The candidate must have:

• A PhD in Engineering, with a proven record of teaching and research in engineering design and related topics
• Proven experience in working autonomously and in teams, multi-tasking between teaching and research
• An appetite for improving teaching and learning of engineering design
• A willingness to tackle complex problems in engineering design research, potentially spanning across multiple application domains
• The ability to interact both face-to-face as well as virtually with students, peers, and all relevant stakeholders
• The drive to network and engage with funding agencies and companies, and secure the necessary funding to conduct research and build a well-connected research team

The candidate can have:

• Experience in teaching in other educational environments, like executive education and/or lifelong learning
• Experience in designing and delivering short courses in various design-related topics
• A track record of advising Doctoral, Master, and undergraduate students in engineering design research
• Publications in leading engineering design research journals (e.g., Research in Engineering Design, Journal of Engineering Design, Design Science, Journal of Mechanical Design, Artificial Intelligence for Engineering Design, Analysis and Manufacturing, and similar) and conferences (International Conference on Engineering Design, International Design Engineering Technical Conference, International DESIGN Conference, and similar)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible to the Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer for the preparation of design as per codes/standards and client's specifications.
• Prepares design proposals, do material take-off for civil and structural work.
• Produce design and detailed engineering calculation, drawings for civil and structural work.
• Preparation and submission of engineering documents for Client and Authority Approval.
• Reporting to the Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer on a weekly basis.
• Implementation of Engineering Procedure, Draughting Standard and Quality Management.
• Conducts site investigation/checks for data acquisition, as-built for design and tender work.
• Coordinates with other engineering disciplines for correct and proper execution of work.
• Liaise with the accredited Professional Engineer (PE) for calculations, drawings to comply with authority requirements.
• Perform any other responsibilities as directed by immediate supervisor.

Qualification & Experience Generally Required

• Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural or equivalent engineering disciplines.
• Min 8 years experiences in FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction Projects in Chemical & Energy, Marine & Offshore, FPSO/FPU industry.
• Sound knowledge on Eurocode, BS, ASCE, ACI, AISC and API Codes.
• Knowledge and Hands-on with STADD Pro, SAP2000, Prokon, Plaxis for Civil and Structural design and analysis.
• Knowledge and Hands-on with AutoCad, TEKLA Structure, Autodesk Revit, Naviswork Manage.
• Knowledge in SACS - Offshore Structural Analysis Software will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge in E3D, SP, CADWORX will be an added advantage.
