As a Marine Design Engineer, you will own engineering responsibilities for all Cavotec’s shipboard shore power retrofit projects. Type of retrofit can be either turnkey, repair and upgrading. Project execution takes place either during voyage or at shipyards, or at times, both.

Shore power/ HVSC/ Alternative Maritime Power (AMP)/ Cold-ironing system enables vessels to connect to shore power while at berth, hence minimizing emissions and noises from the ship’s auxiliary engines. The retrofitted system will be integrated with ship’s existing electrical distribution and necessary instrumentation and monitoring systems.

You will ensure the system design is in accordance with contract specifications, Class rules, and all applicable ship-type and port-specific regulations. You will also participate in the selection of equipment suppliers and service providers for all necessary 3rd party activities. Job Description:

• Prepare designs, sketches and reports with supporting calculations for projects, and supply drafting staff with information to assist in the production of detailed drawings, the development of quantities, materials lists and cost estimates as required.
• Coordinate with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation or construction and commissioning of assigned work.
• Prepare technical submissions for materials, construction methods and C&S shop drawings.
• Resolve any construction issues on drawings and liaise closely with relevant departments as well as the authorities, to ensure consistency with contractual technical specifications and statutory rules and regulations.
• Report on work progress during meetings.
• Attend site inspection with required.
• Any other tasks that assigned by reporting officer.

Job Requirement:

• Possess a Degree in Engineering (Civil)
• Experience in handling LTA Infrastructure design works
• At least 8 years design experience
• Good knowledge of the various engineering design software, for instance Autocad, BIM
• Candidate with strong relevant years of experience will be considered for senior positions

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Senior Engineers for design requirements and specifications.
• Assist in Analog, mixed-signal, and digital IC design.
• Participate in RTL coding and verification for digital ICs.
• Support design verification tasks.
• Conduct circuit simulations and analysis using Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics tools.
• Assist layout engineers with floor planning.
• Analyze and debug silicon failures, suggesting design improvements.
• Contribute to the development of design methodologies to enhance efficiency.
• Document design work and test plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful tape-out.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalents.
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Understanding the IC development flow in advanced CMOS processes, including design, layout, and tape-out.
• Understanding the fundamental theories of digital or analog circuit design.
• Capability to generate inventive designs and circuit solutions tailored to fulfill customer needs.

Our department is seeking a dedicated Research Fellow to support the project on A MEMS Enhanced Deep Cryogenic Fully Functional Quantum Gate Interface for Large Scale Quantum Computing. This role will be instrumental in advancing NTU’s mission to lead in quantum technology research, specifically in scalable and efficient quantum computing solutions. We are looking for a committed team member who will help drive innovation in MEMS and cryogenic interface development, contributing to foundational advancements in large-scale quantum systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and Development: Conduct research on low-power and millimeter-wave integrated circuits and systems for sensor interfaces, quantum applications, beyond 5G communication, and radar systems.
• Design and Implementation: Develop advanced circuit designs optimized for low power and millimeter-wave performance, ensuring compatibility with sensor and quantum system requirements.
• Collaboration and Integration: Work with interdisciplinary teams to integrate circuits into sensor and quantum systems, addressing challenges in power efficiency and high-frequency operation.
• Analysis and Documentation: Analyze circuit performance, troubleshoot issues, and document findings in technical reports, contributing to academic publications and project reviews.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related field
• 3-4 years’ relevant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Analog Integrated circuit design, RF and microwave engineering, or millimeter wave circuit and system.
• Knowledge and/or experience in using tools such as Cadence, ADS, HFSS, Matlab, etc.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and also in a team environment.

3. Prepare concrete design calculations such as bridges, drainage culverts, and retaining
walls
4. Prepare steel structural design calculations such as steel bridges, and temporary sheet
piles
5. Prepare settlement/consolidation calculations
6. Prepare slope stability calculations
7. Prepare construction planning & management for the works such as reclamation,
dredging, soil improvement, soil investigation, ground compaction, piling, steel
fabrication, and concrete, etc.

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Engineering in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
2. Design experience such as piling foundation, drainage, Earth Retaining Stabilizing
Structure (ERSS), soil improvement design (PVD, DCM, sand pile, gravel pile), ECM, Gravity wall, FEM, Slope stability
3. Familiar with the latest design standards such as Eurocode, British standards, ACI, ASCE, PIANC, CIRIA etc.
4. Well-versed in software e.g. Auto CAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Geoslope, PLAXIS etc.
