Creative Arts and Design Technician

The Creative Arts and Design Technician supports teaching staff and students in the areas of Creative Arts, Design, Service, Sustainability, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) within the GESS BeyondClassrooms program. This role involves building positive partnerships that enhance teaching and learning, as well as assisting with activities and events. The Creative Arts and Design Technician is expected to be an active, motivated member of the GESS community, aligning their efforts with the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

General duties

· Organise materials and prepare resources for the, BeyondClassrooms programs, including but not limited to, service and sustainability, creative arts, design, innovation and STEM teams.

Design department

· Maintain machinery, power tools and other equipment and ensure they are in always in safe working order.

· Ensure extraction systems are regularly checked and cleared.

· Liaise with the First Aid team to ensure first aid boxes are stocked.

Project /Practice Management (60%)

• Lead and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Lead team to meet daily schedules on operational aspects of all projects and related activities.
• Effectively apply Omega methodology throughout the project execution.
• Minimize Omega‘s exposure and risk on projects.
• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Keep Project Manager well informed of status of project and serve as liaison between Project and Procurement/Sales/Assembly/Logistics/QA departments.

Customers (25%)

• Manages customer interaction and expectations through regular updates of project status and communicate with customers on his needs and requests.
• Coordinate with customers, end users, engineering consultants, certification bodies, suppliers, principals and etc. on
  - engineering designs,
  - documents /drawings submission and approval,
  - testing and commissioning schedule and job scope.

Internal Liaison (15%)

• Work with the Service team in project executions; providing technical documents to enable them to perform testing, commissioning, repair and maintenance tasks locally / overseas, on-shore and offshore.
• Advise Service Engineers on the system setup and functionality during IAT and FAT stages.
• Be responsible for the tools and parts issued under his care.
• Observe and implement the company EHS policy; ensure compliance with all safety policies, practices and procedures at all times.
• Work within project deadlines and prioritizing tasks from time to time as scheduled.
• Perform site testing and commissioning as required.
• Any other duties assigned by immediate Superior.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 1 to 4 years of experience in marine, shipyard, petrochemical, power plant, oil & gas or other harsh industries and as Lead Project Engineer with engineering background.
• Able to lead a team of project engineers to meet various project schedule, costing, customer expectation etc.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skill; coordinate with inter-department head to achieve company goals.
• Good project execution and management skill.

What We Are Looking For

The Design Project Manager (DPM) is instrumental in overseeing the development and execution of precision component design projects, from mold design conception to completion. This role requires a blend of design expertise, project management skills, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that the final product meets client specifications and aligns with business objectives. The DPM will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documentation, managing project timelines, resources, and budgets, and facilitating effective communication among cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from concept through production, ensuring the product aligns with client specifications and business objectives.
• Oversee Design for Manufacturing (DFM) preparation and review, working closely with customers to secure approvals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure the development of high-quality precision components.
• Coordinate with overseas teams to manage project timelines and deliver results on time, maintaining clear and consistent communication.
• Manage project resources, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure timely project completion.
• Supervise precision toolmaking processes and ensure that high-quality Molds are designed and manufactured to meet stringent specifications.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring project transparency and alignment with business goals.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Engineering or relevant polytechnic qualification; experience in design will also be considered.
• Experience: 12-15 years of experience in core design, product development, and industrialization.
• Tools: Strong skills in NX CAD and proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Good to Have: Education in Project Management and proficiency in project management tools.

Key Competencies

• Technical Expertise: Strong experience in NX Mold design and the ability to create precise, efficient mold designs.
• DFM Proficiency: Skilled in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) preparation and review using MS Office tools to ensure manufacturability and alignment with client requirements.
• Processing Knowledge: In-depth understanding of injection Molding, rubber compression, MIM, and LSR Molding processes.
• Moldflow Analysis: Competent in Moldflow simulation to predict and resolve potential manufacturing issues early in the design phase.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to analyse design and production challenges, ensuring precision and quality in final products.
• Time Management: Capable of managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring that every aspect of the project aligns with quality standards and client specifications.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Travel : Able to travel globally across our plants for projects & for customer meetings.

We are seeking a talented procurement executive. You will be responsible for managing procurement activities for design and build projects including sourcing, purchasing, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and cost effectiveness in procurement process. you will work closely with studio and contract team in delivering the procurement task. You would report to Senior Procurement Manager based in Singapore.

In brief

• Performs procurement tasks according to company’s policies and procurement strategies.
• Source potential vendors and evaluate their capabilities.
• Develop and maintain vendor network in the region in order to offer continuous expertise in terms for current rates and market trends.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with project delivery and cost requirements.
• Assist in preparing bid documentation and support in bidding process including evaluating bids, negotiation of contract and obtaining cost saving according to contract requirements and budget.
• Assist in requesting, following up and reviewing quotation, technical proposal, and samples with the internal stakeholder for project execution.

Requirement:

• You have bachelor’s degree / Diploma with at least 3 years of sourcing experience in procurement/contracting/quantity surveying.
• You have experiences in Construction and Interior Fit-Out related industry and able to read drawings.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Words, PowerPoint and Google Suite.
• You are organised, meticulous, diligent, agility, and resilient.
• You will be able to work independently and in a team.
