Qualifications

The Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore invites applications for up to two Tenure track (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor) position in urban planning and design. Successful candidates should be actively engaged with urban issues in Asia. They should have interests in developing interdisciplinary research to address pressing challenges to high-density urban environment, especially in Asia. They are strongly encouraged to develop collaborative research in the context of the newly established College of Design and Engineering as well as with industry partners and government agencies within and beyond Singapore.

Successful candidates should also have interests and experience in running urban design and/or planning studios in an interdisciplinary setting. We are especially interested in applicants who are able to deploy the studio as a testbed for questions related to pressing challenges to high-density tropical cities. Successful candidates are also expected to teach core modules related to urban planning and design, physical planning, environmental management, urban economics, and urban infrastructure.

The candidate should possess a Ph.D. degree in Urban Planning and Design or related fields as well as requisite experience and credentials suitable for full-time appointment in NUS. They should (i) demonstrate a proven track record in, or strong potential for, research; (ii) have the ability to teach both studio and core modules of urban planning and design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and (iii) for the position of professor and associate professor, have strong academic credentials, extensive experience and strong competence in academic leadership and management. • Draw up networking proposals customized to individual sector
• Liaison between client, designer and other parties leading up to the securing of project, while ensuring client’s requirements are met and exceeded
• Prepare sales and marketing materials
• Work on project pricing, contracts, and fee negotiations that balance profitability with competitive positioning.
• Achieve and Deliver Sales Target
• Support in all aspect of Sales activities
• Manage and maintain clientele relationship
• Collate and evaluate client feedback and highlighting client feedback from customers for management analysis and follow-up

Requirement

• Diploma in Marketing, Business, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Min 3 years of experience in Business development, preferably in the interior design on commercial office/retail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to understand design concepts & to liaise with individuals at all level
• Committed, sales target driven and self-motivated
• Responsible and team player.
• Creative mindset with a passion for interior design.
• Excellent networking & communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with individuals at all level

Job Description:·

• Space planning for residential project·
• Sketch preliminary design plans, including floor plan layouts· Researching and gathering information and photographs relating to the project
• Able to present the proposed design and provide advice on design conceptualization, material, etc to client.
• Preparing detailed working drawings, designs, plans, 3D perspectives and schemes.
• Site supervision and project coordination
• Any ad-hoc tasks given by Management from time to time

Job Requirements:

• Preferably Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent qualification.
• Preferably with minimum 1 year experience in construction drawing and rendering in SketchUp software.
• Skill in Autocad, 3D Studio Max & Vray, Adobe Photoshop, Autocad, Microsoft Excel among others.
• Demonstrated euthusiasm for learning and growth
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities as needed.
