Primary Function :

Responsible for assembling and building prototypes and products utilizing various tools in support of SIGMADESIGN’s engineering production and manufacturing activities. Occasionally provides support in the form of documentation and troubleshooting until units/parts are completed to acceptable test procedures and routing operations.

Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities :

• Performs processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies, subassemblies, electrical wiring, and wire harness assembly using common hand tools and electronic lab tooling.
• Tests functional performance of assembly and observes and records results.
• Assembles products according to routings and blueprints; measures parts to specified tolerances.
• Uses hand tools, chemicals and adhesives as needed.
• Maintains and monitors test equipment as necessary to ensure continued accuracy.
• Keeps production supervisors advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
• Demonstrate Technical Capacity, Learning Orientation, Time Management, and Thoroughness Skills.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment including tools and assembly production areas.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

• Minimum NITEC in any Engineering discipline
• Minimum one year of recent direct or related experience required.
• Basic computer literacy skills, basic file structure understanding, and web navigation; working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience and ability reading and creating simple schematics; able to strictly follow engineering directions or procedures as required.
• Ability to multitask (make progress on multiple unrelated projects) and prioritize workload.
• Detail oriented with a focus on quality, execution and follow through.
• Hands-on skills and mechanical aptitude skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Experience or familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other typical electronic lab equipment a plus.

Work Environment:

Standard lab/production environment. Air-conditioned facility. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design process from concept development through to completion of construction.
• Liaise and coordinate with sub-contractors and vendors on projects and work to alleviate conflicts, dispute.
• Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and consultants to ensure all design objectives are met, completion within project timelines and budget.
• Ensure compliance with Architectural specifications, and achieve a quality aspect of architectural works without deviation to authority requirements
• Create innovative and aesthetically pleasing architectural designs that reflect the unique vision along with the ability to align with clients’ requirements.
• Develop detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and presentations using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction progress meets design intent and quality standards.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in architecture and design.
• Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution, preferably with accreditation with the Board of Architects, Singapore
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an architectural firm, with a focus on high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.
• Knowledge of local regulations and authority submission procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/ArchiCAD, V-ray SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Modelling/Sketchup, Adobe Photoshop/Microsoft Programs, or any basic architecture software.
• Strong design sensibility and ability to develop innovative and compelling design concepts.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Have keen eye for details
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience in both team management and project management.
• Able to independently or under supervision prepare drawings and or documentation at all stages of the project

Job Requirements

• Leading a Team of Tankage Design Engineers to execute the Tankage Design Engineering of the Project which includes design of Fixed Roof Tank / Floating Roof Tank as per API 650, Low Pressure Tank as per API 620, Spherical Tank and Bullets as per ASME Section VIII & Cryogenic Double Wall Tanks as per API 620 & API 625.
• Review & Checking of Tankage Design Documents such as Design Calculation for Tank, Finite Element Analysis, Tank Data Sheets, Tankage Material specification, Tankage Fabrication Drawings & ensure Compliance to API 650, API 620, API 625, ASME Sec VIII, AP 2000 and all Applicable Codes & Standards.
• Interface Management with Lead Engineers, Client, Contractors, Vendors, Government Agencies and Certification agencies.
• Preparation, Monitoring and Control Engineering Document Control List and expedite for delay / approvals / resolution of open issues.
• Review and ensures that all works are carried out in accordance with project specification. Maintain Design integrity and quality within the Project Engineering Team
• Preparing Engineering schedule and Engineering man hours estimation to meet project requirements.
• Coordination with PMC and Construction Coordination.
• Participates in discipline and inter-discipline design check and screening meetings for compatibility, completeness and correctness in works.
• FEED & Pre-Bid works which involves Feasibility study & MTO estimation works.
• Preparation of Technical Specification for Works and Technical Bid Evaluation
• Preparation and Compliance for Engineering Audit Requirements.
• Job assignments, Mentoring and Supervision of works for Designers and Design Engineers.
• Technical assistance to construction activities and attending to Site Queries.
• Preparation of Foundation Loading Data.
• Generate 2D construction drawings and data sheet.
• Preparation of purchase requisition for tank accessories such as roof seal, roof drain system, aluminium dome roof & etc. Preparing technical bid evaluation for item purchased. Checking vendor’s calculation & construction drawings.
• Checking of construction drawings. Preparation of bill of material for purchasing.
• Preparation of technical queries to client base on design deviation.
• To be proactive in creating a safe working environment for everyone and ensuring that HSE in-house rules are observed at all times.
• To consider HSE aspects when planning and carrying out tasks to eliminate and reduce HSE hazards, aspects and risks.

Task Management:

• Assist in the development of design office standards / procedures
• Able to take on project management tasks
• Ensure OHSE policies & guidelines are carried out

People Management:

• Provide technical and professional support to junior staff

Interpersonal Management:

• Liaise with Project Managers and Designers
• Liaise with class and flag societies
• Liaise with customers to meet contracted requirements
• Liaise with external design organisations
• Liaise with production departments to provide technical support

Information Management: (Will this person be handling paperwork e.g. reports, forms, invoices, drawings, documentation, etc? What will this involve?)

• Provide regular communications to the Design Manager
• Attend Design & Project meetings and conference calls
• Provide info on work accomplished for B.O.D. reports on monthly basis to the Design Manager
• Ensure proper filing and documentation of drawings, calculations & other project documents in the design server
• Maintain an accurate project design register
• Provide weekly timesheets to Accounts and Design Manager
