The QCT PMIC Systems group has an opening for a PMIC Reference HW Design Engineer. This group owns PMIC PCB design guidelines for Qualcomm chipset-based phone design. This includes design and optimization of PMIC PCB Floorplan, Schematic, Layout, phone thermal solution and eBOM selection for test platforms and customer reference design and evaluation kits. Qualcomm PMIC hardware design typically consists of modules such as switch-mode power supplies and linear voltage regulators for a variety of cores and peripherals, battery chargers, low noise clocks, ADCs, user interfaces such as display, camera flash and haptics, Power-on and Reset hardware.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities for this position include design of customer reference board and evaluation kits and working closely with PMIC IC designers and Test HW platform teams for optimizing performance and cost on test hardware platforms. The engineer will develop and publish PMIC PCB design guidelines, schematic, BOM selection and PCB layout (by working closely with CAD engineer) based on interaction with chipset architecture, chip design and test teams. Experience in Mentor PADs Logic and PADs Layout, DxDesigner and Expedition is desirable but not essential. The engineer is required to perform the required board level simulations (based on Power Integrity and Signal Integrity tools) to review and sign off on hardware designs developed by various test teams. The School of Art Design Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for a 1-year appointment as Visiting Associate Professor in Digital Filmmaking (Sound Design), with potential contract renewal.

Located in multi-cultural Singapore, ADM provides cutting-edge knowledge in the applied arts with an adaptive and evolving interdisciplinary studio-based education in a comprehensive university setting to foster artistic excellence and creative leadership. Suitable candidates have a holistic understanding of the digital filmmaking process and be able to advise students on projects from concept and writing stage through to final production and post-production. They should have significant experience in all aspects of sound design for cinematic narrative, including but not limited to sound recording, ADR, foley recording, sound mixing, sound engineering, as well as emerging sound innovations and technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of undergraduate courses in production sound, sound design, and sound mixing, as well as the supervision of final year projects. As a candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

• Up-to-date knowledge of key technologies used in sound design;
• A strong track record in teaching a variety of different aspects of sound design at the tertiary level with technical skills supported by critical and conceptual theory;
• Expertise in overseeing student thesis projects from its initial concept, screenwriting, production and post-production to the final sound design and sound mix;
• Passion guiding students in exploring the possibilities of these areas beyond their current narrative forms, including but not limited to serialized content, short-format videos, social media, game, animation, immersive and interactive media, or any other media that engages in creative communication.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Delivering up to 2 courses a semester on production sound, sound design and sound mixing
• Supervise year-long film thesis projects with the possibility of supervising interdisciplinary projects in animation, interactive media, game and other media
• Deliver sound design workshops for thesis year students
• Provide advice and expertise to identify and expand areas of curricular development
• Provide up-to-date technical expertise to review and advise on technologies for teaching needs
