We are looking for a passionate and professional Design Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team.
Based in Singapore and reporting into the Enterprise Architecture Lead, the incumbent will be responsible for designing scalable, flexible, and resilient system architectures to meet the business requirements of Singapore Pools.

What You'll Do
- You will support the development of architecture vision and strategy for domains such as containerization, microservices, cloud and infrastructure architecture, microservices, application architecture, real-time and batch processing.
- You will develop solution architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
- You will provide guidance and definition of application design architecture that effectively supports the business and aligns with SPPL IT strategy - the scope of work can be within a particular or across certain business unit(s).
- You will provide guidance to business and IT architecture teams on day-to-day business and architecture issues.
- You will utilize and develop reference architectures that aim on achieving an increased business value.
- You will drive requirements for architectural designs for a specific initiative ensuring business drivers are met and all impacted areas are involved.
- You will enforce architectural standards in design and implementation phases.
- You will participate in Architecture Reviews as required to promote alignment to business requirements.
- You will assess new technologies and develop solutions appropriate to business requirements and that leverage architecture standards.
- You will lead analysis of complex business processes and issues, consult with technical subject matter experts to develop technical solutions, and advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.
- You will collaborate with cloud and project teams to ensure continuous delivery of business outcomes, as well as to identify when it is necessary to evolve the business architecture.
- You will actively learn about trends in the Gambling industry and participates in the evaluation of those trends.
- You will determine the impacts of new and emerging technologies on current business model and processes.
- You will make recommendations based on expert knowledge of business, industry trends and overall business strategy.
- You will seek ways to drive adoption of new technology and reuse existing technology for enabling business capabilities, value streams and business processes.
- You will actively participate and support communication, learning and community events to represent the business view.
Who You Are
- You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
- You have a certification in PMP.
- You have at least 5 years of work experience in business requirements analysis, design, integration and management, information analysis, microservice, cloud, API, AI/generative AI and other modern architecture designs
- You have experience developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
- You should have a good understanding of the underlying business processes and systems as well as process mapping and engineering.
- You have a broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes, and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
- You have proven ability to upwardly influence the strategic direction of business IT solutions, balance business demands and IT fulfillment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.
- You have demonstrated the ability to work in environments with competing and alternating priorities and a constant focus on delivery.
- You possess the ability to relate and adapt vision and strategy to the external environment that affects the organization in terms of economic climate, customer market demand, regulation and other legalities, geography, politics, culture, labor, and technology.
- You have knowledge and understanding of different types of business and operating models (existing, new, emerging and hybrid).
- You have knowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies and ability to practically apply them to new business designs and business models to achieve targeted business outcomes.
- You have knowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing business capabilities, value streams, business processes, and organizational structures.
- You possess comprehensive knowledge of facilitation of projects and products, and organization change management.
- You have strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects.

Singapore Pools was established by the Government on 23 May 1968 to provide safe and trusted betting to counter illegal gambling. As a not-for-profit organisation, all of Singapore Pools' surplus is channeled to Tote Board to fund a wide range of causes in social service, community development, sports, the arts, education and health. Currently, Singapore Pools contributes about $2 billion annually to the Government in the form of taxes and duties, and for the funding of good causes.
