Responsibilities:

1. Assist teacher in:

• Conducting lessons, preparing resources for teaching
• Teaching individual and group lessons
• Preparing materials and classroom for teaching activities
• Supervising children during feeding, grooming, toilet training, and/or other daily living skills training sessions
• Taking care of children on field trips, special events and other out of class activities

2. Carry out the admin duties associated with classroom activities such as:

• Typing, photocopying and distributing lesson plans and teaching materials
• Preparing and distributing case conference reports/ reviews and notes
• Maintaining children records, class registers, and filing etc
• Cleaning teaching aids
• Maintaining a safe, tidy, neat and conducive learning environment
• Taking records of attendance and temperature onto the PSMS and conduct daily health screening of the children on their arrival to centre
• Ensuring safe arrival and departure of the children
• Attending to sick children in need of minor first aid
• Attending EIPIC Centre meetings, case discussions, home visits, and other relevant staff development training as and when required

3. Maintain good rapport with parents/caregivers, volunteers and other staff members

4. Share opinions, ideas and information that may be of assistance to the smooth running of the class

5. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Senior Teacher/Centre Manager

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 GCE ‘O’ or ‘A’ Level credits
• Experienced in working with young children using English as a medium of instruction
• Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as being a team player

This position reports to the Senior Teacher/ Assistant Senior Teacher

Role:

To lead the teachers in working towards the Division, Centre and programme goals in close partnership with the Therapists, Social Workers, Psychology Associates, Administrative Staff and Families of the children.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Overseeing the Curriculum:

Assist the Senior Teacher to

• Ensure that the programme is effective in achieving learning objectives and differentiated to meet individual student’s IEP goals.

Mentorship and coaching

• Supervise Lead Teachers, Teacher Assistants, and Teacher Aides in their responsibilities within their respective scope of work.

• Manage Centre resources

• Minimum Degree
• Recognised training e.g. Specialised Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs), Higher Certificate in Autism
