XCL American Academy is seeking to recruit an experienced and passionate Inclusion Teacher to teach students from Pre-K to Grade 8. This is a full time 2 year contract position starting from 1 August 2024.
The key purpose of the role is to ensure that all pupils have equal access to the curriculum, and that appropriate adjustments and adaptations are made to ensure that learning objectives are met. This includes planning and delivering lessons, assessing pupils’ progress and providing individualised support to those who need it.
The Inclusion Teacher uses a range of teaching strategies, resources and accommodations to support the individual needs of students, including differentiated instructions and methodologies.
Preference will be given to teachers who have relevant experience in American Common Core Curriculum and , as well as a clear track record of teaching in international or American school settings in the area of supporting students with special learning needs.

- Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment documentation.
Person Specifications
- Preferred minimum 2 years of relevant experience from International School being an Inclusion Teacher.
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized university or college relevant to the subject taught.
- Candidates with recognised Certificates/ Diploma/ Postgraduate in Special Education/Early Intervention or other certifications relevant to the role will be preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching of inclusive education.
- Genuine Passion to support children with learning needs.
- Teacher professional certification specific to applied position.
- Possess skills and attitudes aligned to the purpose, mission and vision of XCL American Academy (Singapore).
- Need clear eagerness, resilience and understanding to engage and collaborate in the development of a highly aspirational school.
- Have a demonstrated commitment to education and learning beyond the classroom.
- Be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
