Middle School Educator Responsibilities

Role-Specific Responsibilities

• Understand and utilize the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum in order to provide lessons aligned to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
• Employ research-based teaching practices that nurture students’ positive identities as knowers, doers, and sense-making of mathematics.
• Provide access and challenge to all students by utilizing data from formative and summative assessments as well as classroom observations.
• Foster positive relationships outside of the classroom by engaging with students in math-specific clubs and activities (sponsorship of Math Counts, Math Olympiad and/or grade-level Math Help).

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
• Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred

Working Requirements

• Sponsoring and/or coaching after-school activities are part of the responsibility of the professional educator. • Assist in developing and teaching Junior College Math aligned with the MOE syllabus using our proprietary teaching methodology.

Who We’re Looking For

• Commitment to Training: This is a full-time opportunity requiring full commitment to the training program; no other jobs or business ventures can be held concurrently.

Qualifications

• NIE-trained or hold a Math degree/diploma from a recognized institution.
• Minimum Grade: O-Level Math (A1/A2) or A-Level Math (A).
• At least 1 year of relevant teaching experience (tuition centers and/or MOE schools) is preferred, but entry-level candidates from Polytechnics and Universities are also encouraged to apply.

Teaching duties

• Teach classes as per the timetable scheduled by the school.
• Co-teaching with TOK/EE teacher as and when required.
• Assessment and curriculum planning.
• Documentation management via Managebac.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
