We are looking to recruit committed individuals who have to serve together as a team to mentor children aged 7 – 12 by providing quality after-school care support in a homely environment.

You will play an active role in identifying the needs of the children and to support their learning and holistic development through the following:

• Supervising and guiding the children with their homework

• Planning and delivering programmes, such as character development programmes

• Organising enrichment workshops that can help promote the overall development of the children

• Curate creative activities to develop skills and expand mindsets in the areas of innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Engage children in outdoor play that serves to build psychomotor skills

As a significant adult figure to the children, you will be engaging with parents and caregivers as well as leveraging on resources in the community, for the well-being of the children.

Montessori Teacher - Mei Ling St Centre

• The Montessori Teacher will work in establishing and maintaining a harmonious classroom. Assistant teachers will collaborate to prepare and maintain an orderly, attractive, and joyful environment.
• They provide another pair of observant, attentive eyes and ears to the classroom.
  Montessori Teachers are also crucial in modelling courteous and respectful behaviour as well as contributing to the warm, supportive, and calm atmosphere that is the hallmark of an authentic Montessori environment

Role: Playgroup/ Pre-Nursery Teacher

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain the Montessori Classroom environment
• Assist in establishing and maintaining the Montessori classroom culture, paying particular attention to the needs of the students.
• Prepares and maintains the environment, observes behaviours, models grace and courtesy, preserves and protects lessons, and assists in developing independence.
• Monitor the environment to make sure students aren’t overwhelmed and anxious.
  Engage students within the classroom by interacting and thinking about what is happening around them.
• Clean-up of the classroom by ensuring that it is always tidy.
• Assisting Children with their toiletry needs.
• Assists individual students in performing activities initiated by the teachers in small groups or on to one setting.
• Inform the lead of any classroom difficulties, including discipline, health, equipment needs etc.
• Assist in preparation/production of instructional materials, i.e. typing, duplicating, cutting art & craftwork, modifying materials.
• Communicate openly and regularly with the lead to discuss goals for the class and individual students.
• Supervise free play activities and handle ad-hoc duties as requested

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in working with little ones.
• Have demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others and willingness to assume any assigned responsibilities in the school.
• Ability to adapt to the changing needs of children and the school environment.
• Diploma/Training Certificate in Montessori Methods of teaching is preferred.
• Ability to converse well in the English language.
• Dedicated and responsible with a positive working attitude.
• Organized, meticulous and able to multi-task.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Conduct engaging Science lessons (Physics and Chemistry) tailored to Secondary-level students.
• Prepare lesson materials, worksheets, and experiments to deepen understanding.
• Evaluate student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science curriculum.
• Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Science or a related field, specializing in Physics and/or Chemistry.
• At least 1-2 years of teaching experience in Singapore’s Secondary Science curriculum.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively and engagingly.
• Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered approach.
• Energetic, adaptable, and dedicated to inspiring a love for Science.
• Availability for weekends and the following teaching schedule:
• Wed-Thu: 3:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  Fri: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  Sat: 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
  Sun: 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Job Scopes 工作范围

1) Teaching lessons to various levels of classes 教课程 向不同级别的课程教授课程

2) Class teacher in charge of all matters relating to children welfare and routine care 负责与儿童福利和日常护理有关的所有事项

3) Assist other teachers to help out in other classes 协助其他老师，帮助其他班级

4) Prepare lesson plans for the class(s) in charge 为负责的课程准备课程计划

5) Excellent communication and classroom management skills 优秀的沟通和课堂管理能力

6) 44-48 hours per week 每周 44-48 小时
