Responsibilities:

The Operation Manager is to ensure efficient processes and practices in the department, managing inventory accuracy, and leading a team to achieve service excellence. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills to maintain smooth operations and meet customer satisfaction targets.

• Lead, coach, and ensuring the department’s activity aligns with company goals and values.
• Set team objectives, track performance, and provide feedback and training to drive continuous improvement.
• Strategically manage resources, including manpower and assets, across various operational activities to meet requirements.
• Monitor workflows and make adjustments as needed to optimize efficiency and meet KPIs.

• Ensure accurate tracking, storage, and movement of inventory items within the warehouse.
• Maintain warehouse equipment and assets, ensuring they are functional, safe, and aligned with company standards.
• Implement best practices to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Plan and oversee daily operations to maintain a smooth workflow.
• Enforce safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
• Assess the effectiveness of operational procedures regularly, making recommendations and implementing enhancements to align with organizational goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role in the logistics sector.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
• Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in a warehouse setting.

KEY ACTIVITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure that the company assigned financial and productivity targets are met.
• Undertake the organization and management of warehouse operations to ensure smooth operations including supplier management, for process optimization & enhancement, as well as to ensure satisfactory result (customer satisfaction, Geodis Singapore & Business Unit targets, and compliance to relevant requirements).
• Ensure the accurate Standard Operating Procedures/work flow is in place, reviewed for efficiency and respected by team.
• Implement effective initiatives to contain costs and improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure proper manpower utilization and adequate tools / equipment’s in place
• Implement and execute logistics strategies
• Liaise with customers to maintain current businesses and for the development of new businesses.
• Ensure conformity of workplace - regulations, OHS / hygiene, and relevant requirements.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL AND / OR TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATES

• Degree holder in logistics or related with 7 year experience or more in logistics field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

• 7 years of working experience or more in logistics industry required
• 5 years in leadership related experience
• Experience in logistics and operations development – keen on logistics processes, and relevant regulations.
• Highly proficient on WMS management
• General knowledge on logistics and freight forwarding businesses
• Sound knowledge of OHS

Main responsibilities:

• Lead, provide guidance and develop strategy for the management of warehouse.
• Stand-in for supervisor in the event of supervisor's absence
• Participate in recruitment activities, staff development and talent management.
• Establish the on-the-job training for Warehouse staff and assisting in the OJT
• Manage and coordinate warehouse issue within warehouse, within site and externally.
• Create and drive plans to have improvement in department KPI from year on year
• Drive the project improvement and resolved issue related to the Warehouse
• Lead in customer visit or audit for Warehouse
• Manage the inventory system and ensure it is operating at the designated operating limit.
• Developed and implement a program for 5S, ensuring that it is always organized and clean.
• Create and drive the safety and healthy work environment in the Warehouse
• Manage and lead the warehouse team and responsible for the attendance, appraisal, job evaluation, etc.
• Manage 3PL.

Job requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management or equivalent years of relevant working experience
• At least 5 Years of working experience in the team lead responsibilities is required for this position.
• Good leadership and strong problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience in warehouse management
• SAP knowledge is an added advantage

Managing the site activities of construction projects

1. Manage all project site related activities ( i.e. including preliminaries, structural, M&E, plumbing & Architecture related matters )

2. Drives project site activities in accordance to project schedules and timeline

3. Engage Engineering Service dept. to ensure the latest revised construction drawing are use

4. Engage Supply Chain & Procurement for machinery and materials needed

5. Ensure minimum material wastage at site

6. Manages and deployment of resources (manpower, material, machineries) in accordance to project schedules & maintain maximum productivity

7. Manage sub-contractors in accordance to their contracts & scope of work

8. Ensure the projects finish on time with quality & profitability to the company

9. Ensure all activities on site do not violate any safety / building regulatory requirements ( ie BCA, NEA, MOM etc )

Prepare Risk Management Plan

1. Build contingencies in to the plan to provide a reserve in the schedule for unforeseen future problems

Participant in Project Tender (when required)

1. Participate as a member of the Tender for prelim and site matters

2. Undertake tender clarifications with customers especially on technical and site matters

3. Define Sub-Contractors scope of works

4. Provide value Engineering

Administer Workplace Safety and health (WSH) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

1. Ensure workers/sub-contractor comply with the company safety regulation

Organise and Proper Handover the Completion Project

1. Ensure proper handover of construction documents to the Clients

2. Ensure the Sub contractor submit the proper handover documents to the company

3. Ensure the project deliver by us and sub-contractor to client(s) on schedule with "0" defect
