Based in Singapore, this position will support the Currencycloud APAC Head of Compliance and Regulatory who is also the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) of Visa’s regulated entity as a Major Payments Institution (MPI) in Singapore, covering AML/CFT and Sanctions compliance matters. This position will be reporting to the Currencycloud APAC Head of Compliance and Regulatory based in Singapore and is a newly created position as part of Visa’s expansion plans within the APAC region.

The core responsibilities for this role are as follows:

·       Support Singapore MLRO in the development and maintenance of robust AML/CFT and Sanctions frameworks which are in line with the Singapore’s Payment Services Act (PSA) and the relevant subsidiary legislations issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) as well as Visa’s Global Compliance and other International AML/CFT and Sanctions standards. You’ll be part of a commercially-minded Global Tax team in Finance, helping to ensure our tax affairs are efficient, transparently compliant and slick so that our mission is sustainable. 

Your mission

• Manage the outsourced preparation of APAC corporate tax and withholding tax computations (e.g. Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Philippines and Thailand). This includes adhering to controls, managing risks and identifying ways to automate and streamline manual tasks using existing systems or emerging technologies. 
• Work closely with Product and Banking teams on expansion of new products and licence applications to ensure tax requirements are met.
• Assist with the preparation of IFRS half year and year-end tax reporting and tax provisions for local statutory accounts and group reporting with the help of advisors where necessary. 
• Work closely with financial controllers, accounting, and finance system teams for sources of data and information, including directly extracting information from our ERP system.
• Support the on ad hoc research and projects, including expansion into new countries and liaising with external advisors to ensure tax requirements are met.
