RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing potential client referral and conducting home visits to assess eligibility for intake into SCS services.

Overview:

To work with the Deputy Commercial Manager (Estimating) to oversee the operations of the Estimating Department and to give guidance to the juniors for preparing of quotations and ensure that the quotations meet the deadline with correct / competitive pricing.

Job Responsibilities

• Distributes work to juniors, gives guidance/assist the juniors to prepare quotations on difficult/critical jobs.
• Instructs the typist to type the quotations in priority order.
• Negotiates tender/contract with owners/superintendents in shipyard, local/overseas (for additional work/new contracts).
• Analyse lost bids for gathering data for future reference.
• Liaise with subcontractors/suppliers for cost estimates.
• Look for areas of cost-control in estimates and better estimating methods.
• Inspection of vessel in local/overseas and prepare quotation for certain complicated/major contract.
• Checks the quotations prepared by the juniors to ensure with minimum qualifying remarks in owner’s conditions of contracts and repair specification and adjust the final pricing.
• Answers and assists the juniors to answer queries from owners.
• Ensure the safety of personnel through compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations.
• Ensure that Health, Safety & Environmental operating procedures are followed and counsel employees about compliance as necessary.
• Participate in the preparation of Safe work, Environmental control and Emergency procedures.
• Ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) plans are followed.
• Any other tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Job Requirement

• Degree or Diploma, City & Guild in Shipbuilding, Engineering or equivalent certification or GCE ‘O’ Level with relevant working experience.
• 4 years’ working experience as estimators in a similar capacity
• Resourceful, cool-minded, excellent leadership and be able to work under stressful conditions.
• Knowledge of cost estimates in marine industry, market structure, market changes, subcontractors’ and suppliers’ capabilities and prices
• Willing to work late on weekdays, weekends and public holidays should there be urgent tender deadlines to meet
• Willing to travel go overseas to inspect vessel/negotiate tender when necessary.
• Need to be technically sound in marine industry work, know the market rate and have negotiation skills.

The channel sales personnel is responsible for executing strategies to drive sales growth through various channel such as E-comm for domestic, overseas, corporate and Travel retail for pre-order and inflight sales. Essential ability to handle operational and administrative task as part of process.

Responsibilities

Channel sales:

-         Develop and implement channel sales strategies to achieve sales targets for channels in alignment with brand guidelines and business objective.
