Role Purpose

To frame the business case and lead the implementation of satellite operations for MODEC EPCI business

conducted by the Project Execution Business Function ("PE"). The operationalisation is expected to be made

under the remit of and will affect two Singaporean legal entities of the PE, Modec Offshore Production Systems

(Singapore) Pte Ltd ("MOPS") and its Joint Venture company Offshore Frontier Solutions Pte Ltd ("OFS"),

respectively. The position reports into the VP, Commercal of MODEC PE and is based in Singapore.

Key Accountabilities

Initiative Framing:-

Consult with relevant stakeholders, establish organisational diagnosis of PE (MOPS and OFS and overseas support). Quantify ineffeciencies & pain points. Provide strategic recommendation for satellite office structure or alternative models.

Governance Complying:-

Develop detailed business plan for the recommended strategy and required investments with the purpose of providing guidance for and support to well-informed decision making from the relevant Boards.

Collaboration:-

Collaborate with colleagues across functional disciplines in order to foster effective professional working relationships across the business, garner support and buy-in from relevant stakeholders.

Operationalisation:-

Lead the full operationalisation of the business plan in accordance with agreed timeline and with minimization of disruptions to the business. In-coutry set-ups (offices/branches/subsidiaries/partnerships etc.) to be coordinated with Corporate Legal.

Reporting / Feedback loop / Communication:-

Ensure visibility and transparency in progress reporting and any mitigation actions required, from the set-up and incorporation of the necessary structures, until the rollout of the new organizational model across PE.

Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking to recruit a proactive and motivated research assistant to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research assistant, you will assist with conducting and monitoring microalgal cultivation bioprocesses via analytical techniques to achieve maximal product titres, yields, and rates. You will also assist with processing the microbial proteins for optimal digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profiles. The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for “High-throughput culturomics study of human microbiota” in the Department of Biochemistry, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Purpose of the post

We are seeking a skilled Research Assistant to support our advanced research in developing new methodologies utilising cutting-edge automation approach to unveil the complex connection between microbial population and human health. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for sample preparation, single-cell isolation workflow optimization, and novel bacterial species characterisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art single-cell dispensing platform, develop expertise in high-output nanopore sequencing, and contribute to impactful scientific research.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

This role will suit an individual passionate about microbiology and omics study to understand host-microbes interactions. The RA will be able to:

1. conduct wet lab experiments;
2. Assist in the isolation, characterisation, and genomic analysis of bacterial samples;
3. Prepare research findings for publications, reports, and presentations;
4. Undertake the day-to-day running of the project and collaborate with team members in supporting lab operation;
5. Daily lab management tasks such as inventory of supplies and samples, preparing culture media and solutions, autoclaving materials, ordering supplies and maintaining bacterial cultures and stocks;

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. At least Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field.
2. Prior experience in laboratory research, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria handling, or molecular genetics is highly preferred.
3. Proficiency in techniques in cell and molecular biology such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing, fluorescence microscopy, and cloning.
4. Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with microbial culturomics.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
