JOB PURPOSE
Undertakes duties in food preparation, processing and distribution to residents.
Food Services Activities
Ā· Wash Peel and cut vegetables, meats as directed before preparation or cooking.
Ā· Cook soups as directed, cook porridge and rice when required.
Ā· Prepare fruits, light snacks as directed.
Ā·Preparation of foods which are to be served as part of special or therapeutic diets for residents.
Ā· Ensure food are stored in the correct temperatures.
Ā· Cooking of all menu items.
Ā· Prepare breakfast and tea breaks for residents.
Ā· Cook sufficient amounts of food for both residents and employees.
Ā· Minimizes waste through proper control of portioning and storage of food items.
Ā· Maintains overall cleanliness of kitchen.
Cleaning and sanitation responsibilities
Ā· Wash floors in food preparation and storage areas as directed.
Ā· Wipe down tables and working areas after food preparation activities.
Ā· Clean and perform basic maintenance of stoves, work area etc.
Ā· Clean and perform basic maintenance of refrigerator storage.
Ā· Washing of cooking utensils when appropriate.
Ā· Washing of residentsā cutlery as directed.
Ā· Dispose garbage from the food service area, ensure that garbage is held in covered containers.
Budget Operations
Ā·Participate in the planning, management and justification of budget and resources in consultation together with Senior/Lead.
Occupational Health & Safety
Ā·Observation of safety practices and policies by familiarising with the documented policies provided by the Management.
Ā·Work together with the Senior/Lead Kitchen to report and address any safety risks at the workplace.
Others
Ā· Order sufficient stock to ensure that food served to both residents and employees are of the right quality and quantity.
Ā· Roster sufficient manpower to ensure all necessary tasks (receiving and storage, cooking, cleaning and maintenance) are completed daily.
Requirements:
- Basic Food Hygiene certificate
- Min. 2 year relevant experience
- 6-day workweek, rotating off
- Able to work on weekends and PHs
