The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU is seeking to make one tenure-track appointment (at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level) in the area of interdisciplinary Urban Studies, broadly construed.
Senior candidates with a track record of leading international teams in externally-funded research programmes are especially encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates at the Associate or Full Professor levels will be considered for tenure upon appointment. The CIS delivers the University's Core Curriculum and also offers a suite of programmes including Singapore's first and only individualisable major at the undergraduate level, a Masters in Sustainability, as well as interdisciplinary Master’s and Ph.D. programmes in Asian Urbanisms.
We are interested in candidates who are able to push the boundaries of research and teaching in what might conventionally be understood as “Urban Studies”. Candidates might have thematic research and teaching interests in areas such as, but not limited to, urban infrastructures (including smart cities), urban sustainability, urban ecosystems and ecology and/or coupled human-natural systems in cities. Candidates that can demonstrate bold interdisciplinarity in both research and teaching are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those with demonstrable experience conducting research in and on cities in Asia.

• Design and deliver postgraduate a course on “Urban Studies: Theory and Method” to a diverse, multidisciplinary postgraduate audience

JOB SUMMARY / JOB OVERVIEW:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing activities to create, communicate, deliver, and exchange offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and other stakeholders that the company considers as important to achieve business goals. He/She utilises marketing as well as market research and analysis to drive the formulation of marketing strategy and planning.

He/She plans and oversees a broad range of initiatives including product and business service launches, advertising, email efforts, events, and social media communications. The Marketing Manager oversees the production of all promotional materials and marketing campaigns.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Formulates and proposes to the higher-level echelon marketing and communication strategies, both offline and online, in line with the company’s overall corporate strategy
• Delivers content consistent with approved marketing strategies at a fashion that is accurate, professional, and timely
• Conducts an analysis of the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
• Interviews, hires, and trains marketing staff members
• Establishes marketing goals based on past performance and market forecasts
• Oversees current offerings and comes up with initiatives for new products or services
• Researches and analyses market trends, demographics, pricing schedules, competitor products, and other relevant information to form marketing strategies
• Works with the marketing staff to develop detailed marketing plans for all media channels and sales teams
• Oversees the creative development of promotional materials, website content, advertisements, and other marketing-related projects
• Communicates with various media buyers, advertising agencies, printers, and other services to help marketing projects come to fruition
• Provides in-depth information to interested clients, and acts as a representative for the marketing department in important buyer meetings
• Works within the department budget to develop cost-effective marketing plans for each product or service
• Tracks all marketing and sales data and creates detailed written reports and verbal presentations to bring to senior executives

Position Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between employees in the Shanghai and Singapore offices, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Oversee the coordination and management of office operations and daily tasks, including but not limited to: Gathering and addressing requirements, responding to daily inquiries, procuring, allocating, and managing administrative supplies and consumables, and ensuring the efficient and appropriate use of office equipment.
• Organize and coordinate logistical aspects of meetings, including:Preparing meeting rooms and video conferencing systems such as providing refreshments such as tea and water, managing inventory and ensuring post-meeting tidiness.
  
• Handle essential office management responsibilities in the Singapore office, including: Processing applications for utilities (e.g., water, electricity, telephones, internet). Managing leased multi-functional devices (e.g., copiers and scanners).
  
• Perform front desk duties, including:Answering and redirecting phone calls. Managing visitor registration and handling incoming/outgoing mail. Monitoring electricity usage and printing business cards.
  
• Execute various administrative tasks, such as:Managing indoor plants. Booking travel arrangements, including flights and accommodations. Administering office insurance. Coordinating and managing vehicle usage.
  
• Oversee all administrative, human resources, logistical, and financial aspects of the Singapore office, including: Coordinating daily office operations. Managing and archiving important company documents. Ensuring the smooth functioning of company facilities.
  
• Handle daily reimbursements and expenses, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and timely, accurate processing.

• Execute additional tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background.
• Proficiency in both Chinese and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
