About the Role

As Category Manager for Infrastructure and Cloud, you will be part of the TPC ISIT Sourcing team and will report to the Director, Head of Category. You will work closely with both corporate in Telenor and all Business Units. Further, you will be working closely with the Head of Category in contributing to the end-to-end Category management and strategy development, including sourcing execution, contract negotiation and supplier management processes. Your role is pivotal in identifying and realizing cost saving initiatives that deliver real business value in the category across all of Telenor’s Business Units.

Infrastructure and Cloud is a global, centralized category management function. The team manages a common global sourcing function for data centre, office IT and public cloud services for the Telenor Group. This includes physical assets such as servers, networking, laptops and storage systems, as well as public cloud services. The team runs a wide array of global initiatives including cost optimization, quality improvement, planning, strategy development and large company-to-company negotiations. The position involves a dynamic work environment and may require occasional flexible hours during peak periods.

Main tasks include

· Develop comprehensive understanding of the Category, contribute to end to end category strategy development and perform analysis to support category strategy work.

· Take ownership and demonstrate accountably for product categories within Infrastructure and Cloud.

Job description:

Project Management

• Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Manage risks, issues, and changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
• Communicate project status, progress, and updates to stakeholders.

Team Management

• Lead and motivate delivery teams to ensure high performance and quality standards.
• Allocate and manage resources effectively across multiple projects.
• Conduct regular team meetings, provide coaching and support to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Client and Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.

• Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
• Address any client concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.

Process Improvement

Financial Management

• Implement quality control processes and methodologies.

Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare and present regular status reports, performance metrics, and project documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a delivery management or project management role.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Trello).
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certification.
• Experience in a specific industry (e.g., IT, Finance, Healthcare).
• Experience with cloud-based platforms, software development, or digital transformation projects.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

• Knowledge of façades, curtain walls, and glazing systems will be a plus
• Experience dealing with A1 / Tier 1 main contractor / consultancy
• Comfortable in doing tendering of projects and vetting of contracts before highlighting to legal for any non-compliance clauses
