Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or other relevant certifications are often preferred.
• Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in internal audit
• Strong understanding of internal auditing standards, principles, and practices.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using audit software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting findings and interacting with stakeholders.

Perform annual external audits of clients in various industries either independently or with an assistant depending on the size of the clients.

Responsible for various aspects of auditing functions (statutory and special audit) including system review documentation, preparing statutory accounts, audit fieldwork and audit planning.

Accountancy degree or complete ACCA qualification.

Minimum 1 to 1 1/2 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading audit engagements, covering engagement planning, process review, preparation, and review of audit workpapers, audit finalisation reports and financial statements across a portfolio of diversified clients including multinational corporations
• Participating in cross-border engagements and group audits with group/component audit teams and/or Grant Thornton network teams
• Recognising possible audit concerns or unusual relationships based on basic financial statement analysis and report them to the assurance team
• Training and coaching audit team members by conducting timely performance review and providing feedback to them

Qualifications and skills

• At least 3 to 5 years of progressive audit experience.
• Degree/Diploma in Accounting or equivalent; CPA, CA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent is highly desirable
• Experience in Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm is advantageous.
• Strong technical accounting skills with proficiency in SFRS and SSA, as well as IFRS and ISA.
• Singapore residency and be able to work in Singapore.

The primary objective of this role is to conduct the BSC sales review of agencies and ensure that Financial Adviser Representatives comply with the Group BSC Standard, as well as minimum control standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collation, scrubbing of BSC data and distribution of BSC transactions amongst the BSC team members.
• Conduct post-transaction BSC review of BSC transactions for each BSC measurement quarter to align with the BSC standards and processes across entities.
• Performs BSC Client callbacks, trigger/send/review of BSC Client Survey forms.
• Follow up on Client Service Recovery (CSR) rectifications and ensure all CSR rectifications are duly completed.
• Conduct ad-hoc/regular training / guide Financial Adviser Representatives / Supervisors on common infractions.
• Provide secretarial support and related activities for the BSC Appeals Committee.
• Perform regular/thematic/ad-hoc audits to ensure compliance to relevant legislation and company policies and procedures e.g. review of switching/replacement of policies, thematic switching, Anomalous Advisers model, where applicable etc.
• Review of Mystery Shopping Results by external party eg. LIA, 3rd party vendor etc
• Handle queries from either other departments, Financial Adviser Representatives and/or Branches on BSC related matters.
• Implement the Group requirements for compliance with MAS Consultation Papers that impacts BSC.
• Stay abreast of the MAS/FAA and related regulatory requirements.
• Participate in the enhancement of eFNA system in terms of evaluating the user stories and conducting UAT testing of new/revised system.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as advised by Management.

Requirements:

• An experienced individual with relevant experience in BSC framework, disciplinary and conduct framework is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of regulations and industry guidelines applicable to the financial industry such as Financial Adviser Acts/Regulations/Notices/Guidelines etc. of Singapore.
• Degree, preferably in Business Insurance or Finance related fields or professional qualifications.
• At least 1-3 years experience in the financial industry covering related areas such as market conduct, compliance, internal controls or audit.
• Experience in dealing with Distribution functions is an added advantage.
