In this programme of work, the tripartite model of adaptability will be used to examine Singapore Physical Education (PE) Teachers’ level of adaptability. The model involves cognitive, behavioural and emotional adaptability and refers to how an individual’s thinking, behaviour and emotions can be modified. In the context of PE teachers, the subject of PE is underpinned by a high level of variability and dynamism of the teaching environment as well as interaction among students and the PE teacher (e.g., physical classroom, CCA, outdoor education, values-based education). Unlike other subjects, the teaching and learning situation can transit quite quickly and there is greater uncertainty on the emergence of students’ learning behaviours as they interact with the learning task and environment.

Task and Responsibilities

• To provide necessary support to PaxOcean Group HSE for all matters
• Function as the appointed Fire Safety Manger (FSM) for the yard and ensure all requirements as per Fire Code are being complied with
• Taking lead as FSM or other appointed role within the Emergency response plan (ERP) during the event of an emergency
• To serve as HSE Duty Manager as per manpower scheduling
• Identify areas of improvement within current system and processes and recommend areas of improvement
• Co-ordinate with both internal and external stake holders (Yard Management team, Owners, Contractors, and local government authorities) on all HSE matters
• Ensure PaxOcean safety procedures are up to date and conforms to Singapore and International Standards and align with regulatory requirements
• To strategize and plan out annual department work plan and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
• Identification of training needs for both yard operational team and HSE department personnel
• To participate in the evaluation and appraisal for all HSE department personnel’s performance and work output
• To oversee the conduct of periodic audit and assessment of consultants, suppliers, contractors
• Oversee preparation of weekly and monthly HSE report
• Organise HSE Monthly Committee meeting
• Prepare External Awards Application
• Carry out periodic maintenance, servicing and replacement for all HSE assets
• To prepare and submit Prequalification Questionnaire
• Assist to monitor department budgets and expenditure
• To plan and implement HSE initiatives and campaigns

Job Requirements

• More than 10 years of Shipyard / Marine related Experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in management role.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS / any relevant engineering field from recognized institute.
• Firm and decisive in decision making
• Ability to provide feasible and practical solutions to challenges encountered
• Competent in planning and conducting ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & Safety Management System Audit.
• Ability to monitor and conduct data analysis and trending
• Ability to conduct investigation and root cause analysis utilizing various proven investigational techniques
• Proven track record on people’s management
• Ability to prepare and present concepts and ideas to both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management team

• Create monthly consolidated cash flow statements for the group to evaluate and minimize cash flow risks.
• Track bank service charges and address any quality concerns swiftly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners.
• Assess banking services to ensure they align with new requirements and offer competitive terms.
• Handle submissions for Trade Finance and Hire Purchase (HP).
  Oversee the management of shipping documents and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Supervise the opening and closure of bank accounts, update authorized signatories, and handle bank tokens.

• Oversee foreign exchange hedging plans and track borrowing rates.

• Perform receiving of incoming shipment from overseas and local suppliers.
• Perform 100% inspection of incoming goods.
• Perform basic quality inspection for inoming goods.

Job Responsibilities:

• Overseas finance team day-to-day operations
• Manage cashflow requirements to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations
• Overseas monthly/quarterly and financial year-end process, including but not limited to co-ordination with all Group entities for reporting and preparation of Group financial statements
• Responsible for the Group’s consolidation, financial analysis and business activities reports
• Assist in preparation of materials and reports for Board, Audit and other committee meetings
• Handle tax matters include quarterly GST filling, corporate tax computation and transfer pricing compliance
• Identify weaknesses in internal controls and propose mitigation measures to close the gap and improve control process
• Provide support to improvise processes for smooth application and alignment of ERP implementation
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents and corporate secretary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Any ad-hoc duties as assigned

Additional Information:

• Posses Bachelor's degree or ACCA or equivalent professional qualifications in accounting
• At least 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably 3 to 5 years of experience in audit / group consolidation
• Strong team player, proactive, committed and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Good knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards
• Familiar with SGX listing reporting is an added advantage

Contract period:

• 15 Jan 2025 to 31 May 2025 and 1 July 2025 to 31 Oct 2025 (About 9 Months)

Deployment:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Scope of Works:

• Supervise students at the GEAR-Up Room
• Ensure that students tidy-up the GEAR-Up Room and canteen area before they leave.
• Ensure that all equipment is cleaned, switched off (if applicable) and put back at their allocated location after use.
• Work with TIC to organize or conduct structured activities at the GEAR-Up Room.
• Supervise and ensure safety of students in the GYM room
• Clean the gym room and the sports hub.
• Any other duties as assigned by School Leaders.
