The Assistant – Operations supports the day-to-day functions and general maintenance of the Nursing Home. The incumbent ensures that the Home’s equipment, gadgets and instruments are maintained at optimal functioning level at all times.

Job Description

Ground Management:

• Ensure that the drainage around the garden and within the Home is cleared of all debris and stagnant water
• Take care of the gardens inclusive of grass-cutting, watering, weeding, etc.

Equipment and Building Maintenance:

• Conduct general repair and maintenance of wheelchair and equipment
• Conduct general maintenance of the premises · Maintenance of nursing equipment e.g. autoclave, oxygen concentrator, nebulizer and air compressor (gym and dental).
• Prepare and arrange rooms in the Home for different functions.
• Report to the Reporting Officer of any equipment malfunction or breakdown

Inventory Management:

• Assist the Senior Executive – Operations in asset movement and labelling of assets
• Assist the Storekeeper where required in inventory management e.g. receiving stocks, weekly distribution of supplies to wards
• Assist the Senior Executive – Operations / Driver where required in management, delivery and/or collection of goods and donations.

Others:

• Cover the Reception counter for the Security officer or Assistant – Admin in his/her absence.
• Cover driving and dispatch duties in the absence of Driver if the incumbent had valid driving license.
• Participate as a member of the Home’s Fire Safety Committee
• To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Executive – Operations, Senior Manager – Operations or Head of Centre.

Job Description:

The Assistant – Laundry is responsible for ensuring a constant supply of clean clothing and linen to residents in the home. Proper handling of clean/soiled/infected linen must be followed. The incumbent must adhere to safety precautions in the course of his/her work.

Collection and Handling

• Collect linen trolleys from the residences at least twice daily
• Wash residents’ clothing and linens such as draw sheets, bed sheets, pillow cases and patient care accessories (mittens, heel protector, etc.)
• Ensure optimization of each washing or drying cycle
• Use disinfectant or the assigned detergents for laundry which require special treatment to avoid contamination e.g. soaking and washing of infected clothing in the washing machine at the right temperature

Delivery and Mending of Clothing

• Distribute clean residents’ clothing, linens and accessories to the respective residences
• Mend clothes and linen which are torn

Maintenance

• Keep the laundry area clean, neat and dry at all times
• Take necessary steps in the control and usage of washing detergents, disinfectant and bleach
• Ensure that the laundry equipment function well and are in good working condition at all times
• Report any equipment malfunction or breakdown to reporting officer immediately

Others

• Performs any other duties as assigned by Senior Executive, Senior Manager or Head of Centre
